Here's their pitch: "Yeah, he's old and past his prime but go 'head and vote for ol' Joe and he will shoehorn the first woman president in by stepping aside after he shuffles a few laps around the oval office. He is really just running for the office of ex-president. Go on, give Joe the "job!" You are really just giving him a lifetime "achievement" award. He is lucid enough to understand he has to set-aside if anything important comes up and step down as soon as possible. Honest!"

Questions:

Why not just run the woman you think should be president? Why does she need to ride a man's coat-tails Hillary style?

Who does this appeal to?

Identitarians would want to see a woman as the nominee, not window dressing. Those women-haters, like DNC primary and caucus voters tgat do not think a woman would be up for the job aren't going to be excited to do a 1-2 shuffle to get a woman they did not see as worthy to run for president in.

It's a really weird gambit. I don't see how they go all the way to November with Joe Biden and I don't see how they get around the Bernie Bros to dump Joe before November.

I would so love for Dems to frame it as, "Not voting for Biden means you are just afraid of a strong, black, woman a heartbeat or a 25th amendment from the White House!"

Probably correct, partly for the above reason.

The theory is that biting is strong with black voters because they're going to remember him as Obama's vice president but I don't see them deciding to run out and vote for Joe, when they were denied another black, inexperienced senator as the second coming. Harris makes sense as a get-out-the-black vote token.
