I've come across a lot of people who either have tried and don't like kik, so I created this thread to bring like minded people together and see if there's any other way to communicate apart from kik. If they are open to texting or hangouts or plain simple emails. I am not a fan of KIK either, for many reason. I'm no longer on there and use Google Hangouts as the only place I talk. Easily accessible from anywhere, easy access to photos, both sending files and snapping photos. I won't go back.

I'd be interested to know what the Kik issues are, it's not like I'm always on there, I'm just curious. I do agree that Hangouts works well.

Kik is not my favorite. It can be hinky. Sometimes a search won't turn the other person up. And it has been locking up when I try to post. But my biggest issue is the video. I don't do video so I have to cover the cam.

Ive liked and used Kik for YEARS... sadly when they were about to abandon it... it was bought out. But in my experience it doesnt work nearly as well as it did before it was bought out and advertisements added to it. The lag is horrible now. I moved most of my conversations to skype.

The thing about Kik is that it gives you time to get to know someone before you meet them or talk to them over the phone. I mean Ive been a Dom/ Master for a long time. But I wouldnt dream of playing with someone the same day I met them... so a little time to earn trust (both ways) is ok with me.

I prefer voice chats so not a big fan of Kik. It amazes me the internet has seemingly gone back to the 90's with so much being text based despite advancements in voice and video features being freely available. I will always prefer the intimacy of being able to hear the other person.

I have started to use Line, instead. You are able to send audio clips, video clips, and pics if you want, and also make calls if you desiere.

KIK is so hokey at times and I wish there was a way to just send audio clips instead of video only.

I have to agree with you there on some parts. I rather voice then video, just because it's very different to me. I don't experience it the same way.

Most men want pictures and videos. I’d much rather have a voice.

wickr - private, secure, phone & pc apps so can talk across devices, can send files and chat voice or text, auto-burn messages. Don't think it does video tho.

I like hangouts cause I already have Google accounts and it's already installed on my android devices.
