Just for the record... China Virus

I have noticed over the years that many of the flu epidemics that annually sweep the globe and kill thousands often spring from China.

I would like this thread to be used for posting factual information about examples of deadly disease springing from China.

If you are the kind of person that thinks it is being racist to observe facts about the origins of deadly disease then please don't post here. I am just trying to gather information regarding the degree that deadly illness starts in China. Information about why this happens would also be very welcome.

Just for the record, the correct, scientifically accepted name of the disease is COVID-19. That’s what intelligent, informed individuals call it.

Didn't WHO already admonish you Trumplitards about calling China or Wu-Han?

"Just trying to gather information" is code for trying to find out whom else here is backward thinking jackass who blames other tribes for their own lack of biological knowledge.

I fully support this initiative.

Let's start with renaming the 'Spanish Flu' epidemic of 1918 that killed more people than WW1.

This was introduced to Europe most likely by US soldiers from Kansas.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu

Henceforth, this epidemic should be known as the 'American Flu'.

You're full of shit. It originated in France under the same conditions that exist in the Chinese "Wet Markets" which are the origin of 80% of all annual flu's and other viral infections.

It's likely that in the future Africa will start being the origin for future epidemics. And for the same reason that the Chinese "Wet Markets" have been the source over the decades.

You're full of shit, assclown. First reported case was in USA. But there's no consensus where the flu originated.

There is a "record?"

What do intelligent, informed individuals call the Spanish Flu? MERS? Ebola? Lyme disease? West Nile? The Taiwanese Flu? The Brazilian Flu?

The Swine Flu was not called the Mexican Flu because it was worldwide long before its point of origin was known. It was years before it was traced to a specific region of Mexico.

It’s no surprise you’d have to ask what “intelligent, informed individuals” do.

But there's no consensus where the flu originated.

I heard it originated in either in Zambia or Nepal. Seriously, neither seems likely. Both are landlocked and neither are exactly major hubs of transportation. So, these seem like speculative guesses, at best.

With no consensus just about anyone's theory has equal validity. So, I believe it is a phenomenon possibly of extraterrestrial origins. NOT aliens or any of that BS (the concept of aliens is logistically impossible). But Earth is constantly hit by debris from space carrying microbes. People find the shit and pick it up. Dumb.

There being no consensus does not imply equiprobability for every possibility.

I've never considered myself (past tense) informed since there is an endless supply of information to consume. I similarly laugh at those that consider themselves "educated" as if education was a destination one reaches.

It's no surprise that watching Rachel Madow and Comedy Central causes you to think you are intelligent and "informed."

How did that whole Russian collusion thing work out, by the way?

Did Russia collide with someone?

You see?

Even autocorrect scoffs at the idea of you being "informed."

The entire Russian "collusion" thing was not an actual thing.

You should fact check Maddow and Noah and then apologize.

I posted exactly the right link to point out how ill-informed you Madow and Comedy Central fans were for years.

"Intelligence Chairman Raised Virus Alarms Weeks Ago, Secret Recording Shows"

"There's one thing that I can tell you about this: It is much more aggressive in its transmission than anything that we have seen in recent history," he said, according to a secret recording of the remarks obtained by NPR. "It is probably more akin to the 1918 pandemic."

Yeah, but they have country of origin.:mad:

But not always correct. The 'Spanish' flu that killed millions in 1918/1919 was called 'Spanish' because Spain was the first country to admit they had it. Other countries were covering up the spread of it before Spain declared it an epidemic. It probably started in the trenches of the Western Front - but no one knows.

Sure. NPR staffers spend more time puffing buds and listening to edgy mandolin riffs than they do conducting "investigative" journalism.

The "secret" recording will disappear as fast as whoever wrote this drivel under their moniker.
