Forgive me if this has been asked before...
But my Sir and I are thinking about going to a club where we can be out. As we have been exploring this on our own I worry that I will either embarrass Sir or offend others be my ignorance and behavior.

Are there protocols I need to understand or expected behaviors? We have never been openly out in a club setting. In a great many thing related to the lifestyle we are very naive.

Heya Catshadow!
Yep, and those rules and protocols vary widely depending upon where you are going. Take a look at the website of the place you are going, chances are they actually have the basics posted! Each community is very different from the next.

This article is a pretty good general place to start, but the places I chose to be would actually disagree with a few of the things written here.

I'd personally like to point out the "start a conversation" paragraph and say: *beware* please take a look at the person you'd like to start a conversation with and see if they have any obvious relationship markers like a collar on. If so... it isnt really wise to approach as a Dominant. It can start unintended drama.

Love these by Evie Lupine as well!

This is a pretty good range to show you what I mean by how one place can differ from another.
These two places are both awesome, but nothing alike.
The Phoenix in Tampa is very chill and open (though 100% safe). Their rules are really comprehensive and you can get a good feel of what you will attend just by reading them. https://tampabayphoenixclub.com/information/faq/
PS if you ever get a chance to attend the ropes courses there DOOOO EEEETTTT! I've a sweet littler girl that I mentor (and have done for a number of years) and she regularly attends there. People are super kind. One of the girls I vetted to help her out even came to pick her up and take her to her first class just to calm her nerves <3 )

as opposed to Club Kink Jax: https://www.clubkinkjax.com/club-rules/
is WAY more um.... get down to business! The people are incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but much less sociable. It is much harder to get to know folks, and is not really the place for learning the ropes so to speak.

Faithfully His;

Thank you that helps. Now a follow-up? How does one go about finding clubs? It almost seems a catch 22 to me you need a connection to find the clubs, but it's at the clubs you make the connection. It seems you at least need to know names of clubs.... Can't just straight Google it.

Fetlife is the easiest way to find places in your area. If you need help looking and would trust me (a completely random online stranger whom you know nothing about YIKES) I might be able to help, but otherwise... honestly... just hop on fetlife and search your area <3 there is a calendar of events in your local area, you can also look in the profiles of people in your area look on the left hand sidebar at their "groups" and look through them... chances are you will find clubs there along the groups ;).

You actually can google something like bdsm club (your city). Or kink or fetish. See what turns up.

Littlebirdjoy is right about fet life. Lots of good local info there.
