Spock's Beard
Honestly, this is one of my all time favorite albums.
I need to hear this. I'm a big fan of Beardfish. The Unbendable Sleep

Classic. Excellent.

I've been having fun. A friend recently told me that he was looking for more complex music, said he knows and likes Rush, but has been looking for something beyond that.
I rubbed my hands in glee
I told him I'd get him 10 CDs, with a bit of a range - reasonably approachable, reasonably complex, not too heavy, but very melodic. He will then let me know which he does and doesn't like, and I'll be able to point him in the right direction.
So I've been listening to 10 really good albums, several times each, so I can speak to each off them if he has comments or questions.
Fun - re-familiarizing myself with some old favorites:
Amorphis : Queen Of Time
Arena : Pepper's Ghost
Devin Townsend - Empath
Magic Pie : Motions of Desire
Mostly Autumn : Passengers
Opeth - In Cauda Venenum
Riverside : Wasteland
Spock's Beard : Snow (or should I go for the more approachable but excellent Brief Nocturnes And Dreamless Sleep?)
Subterranean Masquerade : Suspended Animation Dreams
Therion : Gothic Kabalah
