CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WTVO) — Two brothers in Tennessee are going viral online and taking heat after stocking up on hand-sanitizers to make a profit.

Once they returned home, they posted around 300 bottles that sold immediately, ranging from $8 to $70 a piece. Amazon removed their thousands of listings the next day. To them “it was crazy money,” but once the story went viral online, many others pointed out it was cruel price-gouging from a pandemic.

Not too long ago "they" were saying quit using hand sanitizer because it was creating superbugs. :)

Figures that they weren't smart enough to pull this off.

And serves them right. :)

They need to be taken out back and given a good old fashioned ass whooping.

Capitalism in action. Good for them. $70/bottle? The brothers aren't insane, the people that paid $70 are.

Good one but also true.

As for Twitter freaking out: Didn't experts say that soap is just as effective?

The stupid bastards are NOW stockpiling everything.
What they can get.
A little late.

Some people, maintain a stockpile.
And now....it’s no big rush to get more.

What would make sense to me is if people were stockpiling things out of fear that prices might go up & to save a buck, cause less labour & import-export.

Like meat and fresh vegetable prices
Those need a current labour force, so availability might go down & prices up if worker nombers go down to avoid crowding.

Me? I was thinking of buying a small stock of corned beef and tuna cans for my Atkins diet, to save a buck if prices go up, or if people start hoarding those too.

But the survivalist stuff, hand sanitizer and toilet paper?

Again.....please note, I said “stupid bastards.”

Sound like they did pull it off for a while and if Amazon weren't such pussies always bending the knee to Woke-O Haram they would have both made out.

Judging by the demand they had it's going to get sold.

If not on Amazon isn't the only digital marketplace. ;)

Awwwww....poor leftist STILL can't stop people from making money, never have, never will.

How sad for yall.

That perspective requires some economic literacy......the progressives will never comprehend that view point.

All they see is two disgusting pigs taking advantage of the needy and denying the poor CRITICAL supplies.

I feel something on my towel. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Is it the coronavirus?

"Yes, you are infected. Please self quarantine yourself."

Where?

"What is your occupation?"

I'm a common towel at Motel 6. We leave the light on for you.

"Well, don't leave the light on. Go home for two weeks."

I don't have anyplace to go. I live here.

"That's a problem."

Here's one of those where, imo a critique of the State versus Free market would come in handy.

Given that hand sanitizers for the moment are non-essential products/cheaper alternatives soap & al are widely available, it's no big deal. It's about them profiting off morons.

But IF, let's hypothesize those were essentials - there were were very few alternatives to hand sanitizers in combating coronavirus -- the State should intervene and send them to jail.
Just like they used to do with speculators, in the 18th century.

That's what a previous poster once said, and it stuck with me:

The Socialism versus Capitalism fights in the forum are both irreconcilable and misguided, because they morph into ideological fights on behalf of powerholders.

Rather, the discussions should be framed in terms of essentials versus non-essentials.
--essentials (education, health, firefighting, maybe transport)- which, as he saw it personally, should be regulated by the State)
-- non-essentials (clothes, electronics etc.) - where free market should prevail.

And exactly who gets to decide what is "essential" and what isn't?

Exactly.

Only a fan of a command economy would make such a statement.

Should cereal, bread and meat be on that list?

No need to worry about broccoli.

It won't run short.

:D ;) ;)

Why??

Why do you lefties hate people making money so much??

A Woke-O Haram jihadi for Marx no dobut said that shit.

As already asked, who gets to decide what is essential and what is not?

"Education" is essential but clothing is not??

LOL

I as a parent I think my kids need clothes before they need communist brain washing from the public baby sitting services....I mean "department of education".

See....we already can't agree on what "essentials" are. :)

I just read about that and the issue wasn't buying the sanitizer,

but trying to sell it online.

Leftists hate Capitalism and most of the internet tycoons
have really gone Leftist in a very big way.
This was a virtue signal.

How the hell does it help anyone for these clowns
to be forced to sit on their stash?

Should have put it up on Ebay. Start the bidding at suggested retail and throw in a "Buy it now" for $70 plus shipping and handling. :D
