I listened to Bernie's rant I mean speech tonight, and I noticed he does something Trump does: he refers to him and his supporters as "us" and "our" movement. He doesn't mean all America he means his personality cult. In contrast Biden quoted the Pledge of Allegiance and spoke about uniting the COUNTRY. Bernie is about Bernie and his followers taking over the "Establishment" just like Trump and the swamp. Biden said it's about taking back democracy. He's the better candidate.

I see your point, but would point out that Joe is not talking about more than the same old shit. Obama 3.0, nothing about reducing our exposure to Crazy Bastards, nothing about stopping the aerial murder of our Drones in foreign places.

Damned little about restructuring our economic system to make corporations pay their fair share of taxes and stop subsidizing energy companies.

I expect the convention will be vivid. :D:D:D:D

The "same old" Democratic shit, with Democratic control of the House and Senate would be actually moving toward the progressive rather than just talking about grandiose programs what you don't have a prayer of passing in big chunks of steps that would be just as jolting to the nation as Trump's deconstruction of the country is being on the other side. After Trump's craziness, what we need is a few years of calm recovery--not an abortive attempt at a revolution.

I think a Biden/Warren ticket would be just fine.

"taking back democracy" lol....what the fuck does that even mean???

Where did democracy go, the only people openly trying to undermine it as of late are the (D)'s in 2016.

Corporations will never ever ever ever....ever pay taxes regardless of system, due to the nature of what a business is, it's just not how things work.

And Marxist socialism is never going to be a thing int he US comrade, you just need to move to N. Korea.

1. Passing HR-1

2. Protecting our elections from foreign interference

3. Stop Trump from further corrupting the rule of law and ignoring Congressional overight.

Just to start.

They're a lot alike in style and in running on grievance against a scapegoated foe.

So you're saying greedy bankers didn't cause the 2008 financial meltdown? You're saying that tax cheats like Trump and corporations like Verizon who take more money from the government than they put in are scapegoats?

Sounds like you're almost as dopey as bot. I bet next you'll be saying that Trump's casual murder of children both in the US and abroad is just fine. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Jewish people and minorities. I'm sure it'll be nice.

Bot you gotta fix your alts. They're just too easy.

1. Passing HR-1

Other than the tax return stupidity in there it's not all that objectionable.

There are some parts I think will be biting (D)'s in the ass.

2. Protecting our elections from foreign interference

Yea....as long as that doesn't include censoring speech, wonderful. :)

3. Stop Trump from further corrupting the rule of law and ignoring Congressional overight.

Just to start.

Stop something that isn't happening?

Good luck with that.

SO what do you want to do, run a campaign based on tarring and feathering? All that may be true, but you can address it without making hatred and vengeance your rallying cry. Makes you no better than the other side.

I would never get behind a demagogue no matter what they're saying.

I think you'll find I'm totally against Republican policy and I would never vote for one. But to me rhetoric, narrative, style, and the larger vision and personality offered is what I get behind. If you sell a vision, you can get a lot done. Going after what you perceive as evil (unless it's the Republican Party) is crap. Jmo

Trump did that already and won then rewarded the bankers and took away the guardrails so it could happen again.

Also, I would say that running a campaign based on holding people accountable for their misdeeds or any misdeeds they do in the future isn't called "tarring and feathering" it's called justice.

All that may be true

Not may be, it is true.

but you can address it without making hatred and vengeance your rallying cry.

If you think Sander's rallying cry is hatred and vengeance you really are delusional and I have a great festival opportunity for you.

Just because you agree about where that hate and vengeance is pointed (people with more money than you, white people, business owners, males, cis/normies, Christians etc) doesn't make it not hatred and vengeance. ;)

To be sure, what Bernie says/does directly and what he doesn't control his fanatic supporters from saying/doing directly are two different animals. That doesn't mean they aren't related, though.

Really? Then I take it you liked the chants of Lock Her Up.

Thanks for providing more evidence of how Bernie is like Trump.

Ok fine, hatred and vengeance is too strong. Let's just say there's a distinction between calling for a fairer tax code, for prosecuting white collar crimes, for raising the minimum wage, for extending health care, for doing all the things that all the Dem Candidates want to do, in different ways, and Bernie's all-arching simplistic, repetitive until you want to kill yourself rants against his favored baddies, the "billionaires" and "billionaire class" and the nasty evil "corporations." He provides a black and white, easily consumable, simplistic world view. Rich is bad! Wealth is bad! And just in case you can't get it, he'll repeat it again and again and again. No collusion! No collusion! Listen to Bernie! That's what sets him apart and makes his message easier to grasp.

I have nothing against billionaires or corporations. That doesn't keep me up at night. They're not INHERENTLY evil and corrupt. They do provide most of the jobs in America. The problem is unfairness and greed, like you said.

IN fact, Warren is a good counter-example. She can explain her viewpoints against extreme wealth in a way that is not offensive at all. Bernie's whole problem is not his "policies," it's Bernie!

Bernie is a populist, which is why he won't be nominated. The Dems are now the anti-populist party.

I've got a pepe avatar, love Trump and Nazis, and hate Jews. So I know a lot about hate! Oh and I often threaten people with violence on here after getting owned hard. Plus, dan kind of busted my avatars and I lied a shit-ton about being in the military, owning a business, and whatever else I felt like because I'm a fucking coward.

You sure are bot. I really enjoyed you getting your ass handed to you in the bot is a fake military vet thread.

I have nothing against billionaires or corporations.

You clearly didn't read how billionaires took advantage of society's most vulnerable groups of people. Or you did read it and didn't care. Which is it?

That doesn't keep me up at night.

It probably should. If you want people to be more free and not wind up with poisoned water, shitty schools, and crumbling roads. Again I'm start to suspect that you just don't care.

They're not INHERENTLY evil and corrupt.

Nothing is inherently evil, it just turns out that if you give a certain group of people nearly unlimited money and power they all turn evil or at the very least more than willing to take advantage of a system that perpetuates their wealth and power at the expense of everyone else.

Sorry your defense of this stuff is absolute horseshit and on a level nearly as pathetic as bot's attempts to hide is hatred of blacks and Jews.

LOL...dan is talking to himself again.

Nuttier than squirrel shit. :D

Lately, I've just been kicking back reading all this rhetoric, not too interested in replying to most of this nonsense, won't change anything, when you do it ends up just a lot of writing for nothing. Now; watching Carnal and Dan trying to out-loon each other is priceless!!! My new spectator sport. LOL! On another note; got a kick out of *know-it-all* condescending Fuzzy tutoring GBers on the tenets of leadership. Some of these Canadians are consumed by they're out of control hubris.

Typical Bernie Bot. My way or the Highway.

As I said, you can go after wealth inequality in different ways. Pete had good ideas, so does Biden. Warren stands out NOT just for standing against something but offering productive ideas for change--much more than the ranting loon.

Bernie could take a lesson. He'd sway a lot more people if he stopped being a demagogic asshole. Plus this isn't a Grad Seminar on economics it's about the Presidency and that demands a lot more. I'm totally delighted that Dems are rejecting him for the job. It shows good sense.

You said no such thing. You said billionaires are fine and we should trust them despite massive evidence to the contrary.

I'm still waiting for you to answer my question: did you not read the links or do you just care about those less fortunate?

Yeah, billionaires are fine. Doesn't bother me at all.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't tax the shit out of them. I think all Dems want a FAIR tax code and to crack down on regulations and curb the fossil fuel industry. Go after all economic corruption. You can do all that without jumping on the Bernie mind think train.

What, if I don't virtue signal in the correct way that means I don't care about "those less fortunate"?

I'll vote for the Old Codger if he wins it; doesn't mean I have to become a Bernie Bot

What Warren and Bernie want for a tax code isn't fair. What do you consider a fair tax code?

Crack down on what regulations?

Define economic corruption! Serious questions.

Fossil fuels will subside on their own when the science and the manufacturing process is available for alternative energy sources.
