Is it normal for it to take weeks for a story to post?

Hi everybody, almost a couple weeks ago I tried submitting my first story to Literotica and I'm pretty confident I did it right, since it shows in "My Works" as "awaiting moderator's approval" when I click on it.

I've emailed support and all I got back was a generic copy/paste of the section of the FAQ where it talks about what to check to make sure it was submitted properly. In the FAQ it talks about it normally taking a couple days... And maybe as long as a week to get posted.

I did resubmit a few times the day after the first submission with some corrections. From what I understand from the FAQ that just puts you in the back of the line. But even taking that into account, multiple weeks seems like a long time to wait approval.

Should I just resubmit? Should I wait another couple of weeks? This is my first submission, so for all I know this might be normal. Maybe they're just swamped with submissions right now. Any input would be appreciated. Having my story stuck like this for no apparent reason is getting a bit frustrating. Especially when it says the norm is only a few days on the FAQ.

Email doesn't work and hasn't for years.

A first story by a new author always takes longer because you are an unknown quantity but two weeks seems excessive.

Hi everybody, almost a couple weeks ago ....Especially when it says the norm is only a few days on the FAQ.

Most new authors send their work to the Editor in chief Ogg, he is very modest, verging on secretive. he loves reading manuscripts, sometimes passing them off as , oops , no sorry...

Ogg ! you should be on a ferry RIGHT NOW!

Ferry?

What's that? I jump out the back of a Hercules.

Oh FFS! why not just post your NI number and blow your own cover! covert ops.....

Take out Sean, then just view the rest as targets of oppurtunity.

Right on, thanks for the advice, I'll do that then!

have you viewed the story since submitting? if so it bumps you to the bottom of the queue because it's essentially the same thing as resubmitting.

I have brought up the page where you are supposed to be able to view it, but since I uploaded an rtf file I can't actually see anything. So I back right out. Maybe that's the reason it's taking so long... I looked at that page fairly recently, but before that time it was several days if not a week. So I dunno. I'll make sure not to open that page again.

Still nothing... :/

So I PM'd Laurel and got yet another generic copy paste reply from the FAQ a couple days afterwards. It's been a few days since the reply and I have been careful to not visit the "view" page. Still waiting on moderator approval. I'll check back again in a few more days, but I'm starting to think either my work is too long or utter garbage and nobody wants to tell me. Which is a shame because I wanted some kind of feedback at least, good or bad. Or maybe it's so good somebody is out there posting the story under their name for hits. I kind of doubt that, but you never know. I'm not too concerned about this story. This is just a fun warm up project for me to get back into writing again.

So for you few folks that were putting in your 2 cents, I thank you. If nothing moves in a week from now, I'll just take back the submission and keep working on the story for personal reasons. Maybe I'll try posting again when I complete the whole set of 4 stories.

For those who are curious, you can download the story at this link! It's a wincest story set in an alternate universe where magic exists in a modern world very much like our own. The people in the story worship/follow a goddess of sex and love. The first story is titled "Weekend with Aunt Launa"

FYI: this project is an experiment where I'm creating a VR experience alongside each story using software called Virt-a-mate. If you're lucky enough to have a PC with VR and have Virt-a-Mate installed you can see the sex for yourself in glorious 3D! If you don't, then you can just visit my PornHub page and see the videos I recorded and posted. My PH username is Darqmystik. The VR experience is just a tiny bit of story setup and lot of sex. The written story elaborates much much more about the events leading up to and during the sex scenes. The scenes attached to this story have gotten pretty a mediocre response, but the preview video for the 2nd story has already gotten over 10k views (people just really really love watching virtual lesbians scissoring apparently)!

Thanks for reading everyone!

Does the status of the submitted story on your author's page really say "Awaiting moderator approval" or does it say "pending"? It shouldn't say the first; it should say the second. If it says the first, your story is off in a channel I've never seen before, so I'm not surprised if it's hung up in some blind alley.

It's been saying Awaiting moderator approval ever since Valentine's weekend. So it must be lost somewhere. *sigh* When I get home from work tonight I'll check one more time and try deleting and resubmitting. Maybe I'll have better luck that way. Thanks for the reply!

Just to clarify. When I go to "works activity" on my profile I see "You have successfully submitted a story" and it's dated 2/15/20. I click on the title "Weekend with Aunt Launa" and I get an almost blank page and the only thing it says at the top of the screen, in bold, is "This submission is awaiting moderator's approval" and below that, not in bold, it says, "then it will be available for browsing" I've attached a screenshot of that message.
