If you research the Spanish flu outbreak, large metro's got hit the hardest.

Bar owners and Priests objected to the ban on public gatherings in big cities like Cleveland. Waiting 4 to 6 weeks longer than other cities to ban all gathering places, those cities that waited took the brunt of the deaths. Cleveland waited the longest to impose bans on these gatherings. They were hit the hardest with common graves and people never making it to the family burial plots as no one was around to handle services.

Male smokers in China with pre-existing health conditions have been hit the hardest. JAMA reports. As expected the most common pre-existing conditions to have a higher death rate are related lack of general fitness. Those with heart or respiratory disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure are the dudes going down first.

Your treadmill in the corner and ditching your smokes are the best way to beat this thing. This is not new info, poor health makes people vulnerable to all infectious diseases.

PS: My friend works at a fortune 500 plant in engineering. The 1000's of employees that work there are scanned for fever by thermal imaging cameras. If you have a fever over 100 you are sent home, no exceptions. They do not care if you "can't afford" the days. They can't afford to have a 1000 plus work force quarantined.

apparently all hospitals have been ordered to set up coronavirus assessment quarantine pods, where anyone visiting a hospital with suspect symptoms will be isolated and assessed rather than have them wander the hospital main buildings. there's also a 111 number to call if peole think they may have symptoms and people are being told NOT to go to their regular doctor or hospital. i'm assuming they get a phone assessment then an ambulance sent to collect them?
