Ex-Republican Clint Eastwood makes call to dump Trump in Wall Street Journal interview

Vote Blue Dog!

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, actor/director Clint Eastwood — who once ran and won as a Republican for mayor of Carmel, California — said it is time for the country to move on from Donald Trump.

Eastwood, who memorably spoke at the 2012 Republican convention made his comments at the end of an interview about his films and the #metoo movement.

“The politics has gotten so ornery,” Eastwood reportedly stated before adding he approved of “certain things that Trump’s done” but wishes the president would act “in a more genteel way, without tweeting and calling people names. I would personally like for him to not bring himself to that level.”

The report closes with Eastwood endorsing former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, stating, “The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there.”

:)

If only Trumpski wasn't such an Asshole!

‘A travesty and a disgrace’: Trump quietly issues memo that could abolish union rights for 750,000 federal workers

President Donald Trump on Thursday quietly issued a memo granting Defense Secretary Mark Esper the power to abolish collective bargaining rights for the Defense Department’s 750,000 civilian workers, a move unions decried as part of the administration’s far-reaching assault on organized labor.

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) condemned the memo, which was published in the Federal Register (pdf) Thursday, as “a travesty and a disgrace.”

What election? This is a civil war to stop Trump

Trump is letting us know that he and his base don’t think of this as an election. It’s a civil war. They want to turn the clock back to the time that Negroes knew their place and women were happy making biscuits in the kitchen and employers could pay their workers anything they wanted and the question of who got to vote was decided by a few white men in a smoke-filled room.

Look around you. With William Barr at the Justice Department and Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court and Senate Republicans voting in lockstep with Mitch McConnell, living in Donald Trump’s America feels like the South won the Civil War. If we don’t get our shit together and drive him from office at the ballot box in November, we’ll lose this one, too.

Democrats, Independents, and Republicans who love America, Unite and vote BLUE!:)

Never voting Democrat again.

And people like you are a big reason why.

I presume you were talking to me?;)

What you don't like straight talking, educated voters expressing their opinion?

I know it looks like I don't like Donnie, or his Trumpublicunts, Repubilcunts, and most republicans, at this point. So I guess that is true.:)

Obama was bad enough, but he did get the country out of the Republican Ditch that "W" got us into.

Remember "W". He came in right after Clinton got the country out of the Republican Ditch from Reagan and Poppy Bush's reigns of repression.

SO what has the Republican party done for me LATELY?:)

I have always viewed the religious right with interest and a degree of sympathy. :)

Nevertheless, the RR has made bad choices for presidents.

In 1980 Evangelicals abandoned a sincere, born again Christian to support a product of Hollywood who seldom attended church. In 2016 they reached even lower into the barrel and gave their support to a vulgar, foul mouthed, lying, womanizing pagan.

Donald Trump does not share the values of Christian conservatives any more than he cares about white blue collar workers. His ability to win the support of both groups is the result of his most successful scam ever.

'Educated?' Did you buy a credential somewhere?

Tax cuts, 401ks rising, trade deals in our favor, job market coming back.

What have the Democrats done and what Obama policies do you think actually helped the economy? Bowing down to Iran?

Plurals are used when there are more than one of something. There has only been one tax cut and one trade deal under Trump.

Donald Trump’s cruelty and vulgarity have done enormous damage — but let’s stop pretending he’s ‘un-American’

The almighty profit motive reins so steadfastly supreme in the world’s wealthiest nation that children suffer brain damage from drinking water contaminated with high levels of lead, prison has become the leading institution for the mentally ill, and hundreds of thousands of Americans declare bankruptcy every year because they can’t afford to pay their medical bills. Caring for the sick and nurturing children cannot compete with the twin gods of enrichment and consumption in what historian Walter McDougall called “a nation of hustlers.” In the words of President Calvin Coolidge, “The business of America is business.”

Those among us who still pledge some allegiance to the alternative America can watch in horror as we inch closer to the realization that Donald Trump, the personification of kitsch, ignorance and barbarism, is not un-American at all. He is as American as fireworks on the Fourth of July.

A journalist who uses “rein” when he means “reign?” Must have gone to Trump U.

White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney caught on tape saying US is ‘desperate’

White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney was caught on tape admitting that, despite President Donald Trump’s policy preferences, the United States is “desperate” for more immigrants, according to a recording obtained by the Washington Post.

He further undermined the administration’s claims of its economic prowess, admitting that immigration is necessary for sustained economic growth.

“We are desperate — desperate — for more people,” Mulvaney said, according to the post, stressing that it should be legal. “We are running out of people to fuel the economic growth that we’ve had in our nation over the last four years. We need more immigrants.”

Does the Trumpster know this?

‘Nice deflection, Mr President’: Adam Schiff busts Trump for trying to blame him for his leaky administration

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) took a shot at President Donald Trump on Sunday morning after the president tried to blame him for the leak describing a classified meeting lawmakers had with an intelligence official who warned the bipartisan group that the Kremlin is trying to help the president get re-elected.

As the president prepared to leave the White House for India, he told reporters that Schiff was to blame for the leaked meeting story, with the president insisting he personally had not been briefed on the report explosive report.

Responding to a ‘Meet the Press” clip of the president making his accusation, Schiff tweeted back: “Nice deflection, Mr. President. But your false claims fool no one. You welcomed Russian help in 2016, tried to coerce Ukraine’s help in 2019, and won’t protect our elections in 2020. Now you fired your intel chief for briefing Congress about it. You’ve betrayed America. Again.”

Is our White House incontinent? :D

Trump butchers language during massive India welcome rally — as crowd walks out on his speech

President Donald Trump butchered several Indian words during a speech on his first official visit to the country.

Trump addressed a massive public rally Monday in Gujarat, the home state of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi, and struggled to pronounce several words, reported BBC.

The U.S. president bungled his pronunciation of Ahmedabad, the city where he was speaking, and the name of Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda.

Trump, who entered to the music of Elton John, also called the Vedas — ancient Hindu texts — the “Vestas.”

BBC’s Rajini Vaidyanathan reported that crowds began leaving midway through Trump’s speech, which came after Modi spoke.

Considering Trump's normal speeches, they walked out because he can not string three sentences together.:):):)

Maddow reports on ‘jury tampering on a mass national scale’ — personally committed by Trump himself

The host of “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC warned her viewers on Monday that President Donald Trump is personally committing jury tampering with his attacks on Roger Stone jurors.

Maddow recapped viewers on the process that resulted in the current situation, quoting extensively from an op-ed written by one of the jurors.

“And now after that conviction, after roger stone’s sentencing, the president of the united states is the person who is leading the charge to denigrate that process, to single out individual jurors — including by name — to make them into villains and to try and tear down any respect that any American might have for the legal process if it produced an outcome the president doesn’t like,” she explained.

That might be IMPEACHABLE! :)

Trump still has no set plan to combat coronavirus just hours before hastily called press conference set to begin: report

President Donald Trump still has no set plan to combat the spread of coronavirus, just hours before he is set to hold a hastily-called 6 PM Wednesday press conference. According to Politico, Trump haas yet to decide whether or not to install a coronavirus czar to coordinate efforts, similar to how the Obama administration successfully staved off the spread of Ebola in 2014.

I'll bet Liz has a plan for this!:)
