So I am 53. I decided to stop dying my hair because it was falling out. I have grey at the temples and then for about every 5 brown hairs there is a grey one. So we went to the movies and this young cashier rang us up. I got the senior discount. I did not ask.;) So I have that going for me. Anything else I should know about?

Order off the senior menu at restaurants.

Eh, I started to Grey right out of high school. My perceived age has always been older than my actual age. Bounus when you're trying to buy booze and not 21. Sucky when you're 35 and people think you're 50. You get used to it I guess. It doesn't bother me. Take advantage and get the discounts whenever possible!

I get it when I look over the top of my reading glasses. I asked a rather-dapper-for-a-cashier gentleman if it was the glasses. He said, no, it's the hat.

I like the hat(s)

Two years ago, I ordered a drink and was asked for my ID. Haven't been asked since but I haven't ordered a drink either. People don't typically guess my age, so I guess that is a good thing.

If it's freely given, take it.

In two years, on the first Tuesday of the month, you can get 10% off at Fred Meyers.

Here, everyone is carded for booze to be sure you don't have a red stripe on your license.

I'm not old enough yet.....if my asian genes hold up I'll keep looking a little more youthful than I am, despite a rough early adulthood that aged me considerably.

Downside is one day, if I make it to my 60's...BOOM I'll be suddenly ancient looking.

Go from looking like I'm MAYBE 40 to ancient looking in like 1 year.

I'm just the opposite, people judge me to be 15 to 20 years younger than I actually am. I have a baby face, no wrinkles but do have some grey hair.

It's actually NOT been a good thing - people don't take me seriously because they think I don't know what I'm talking about because I'm so young; women my own age don't want to go out with me because they think I'm lying about me age and that I'm much younger than they are.

Wow! i'm not quite a senior but some places offer the senior discount at 50 or 55. I always have to ask!

For your hair, mix a Tablespoon of melted coconut oil and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Work this into your hair and scalp. Leave on for an hour. Put a towel around your neck because it will drip.

Wash it out. You may need to wash it twice. This will make your hair fuller and also help with the gray.

There appears to be a lot of stuff going on around a senior discount.....

I used one for the first time at a Krystal the other day .... that $2.21 off was gold.....

Apply it where you can.... the margin is already there.

Embrace the suck, 'cause you ain't gonna get any younger..

I ain't doing that to my beard.

You'll know you have arrived when you start getting inundated with AARP junk mail.

The kiddo likes Taco Bell on occasion — yes, she's getting the blame here — and the last two times she's been in my company, I've gotten a senior discount without asking for it (I didn't even know they had one) or telling them my age.

When I was a child I was very large for my age.

At age 7 I was asked to leave a play area for under 12s.

At age ten I wanted to buy some hand made espadrilles in Spain. They had to be made specially as no local Spaniard had feet that large.

At age 16 at over six feet tall I was shown around the adult areas of Pompeii, reserved for the over 18s.

At 21 I had greying temples and grey streaks in my beard. My beard has been all-white for thirty years. My AV shows it coloured with stage make-up.

My wife, at 75, has less grey hair than I had at 21. Her sister, 14 years younger, thinks it is unfair. She has been grey haired since she was 45.

In a constantly changing world it is nice to know that one thing remains the same.:D:rolleyes:

I’m 56 and I shave my head, but my beard is mostly silver/grey. The only thing that ever asks me for an ID anymore are the self-checkouts at the grocery when I’m buying beer or alcohol. I also take every senior discount I can find, after all, I’ve waited 55 years to get them!
