Damn, she Justa did it again. Still nothing to see.

So back to the outside sales talk.

Just met the newest they offered the position too. I think he will either do well, or will slack off, rarely show, and totally flake. He is interesting. Very young, at best 21. Very good looking, for being like 12, but in that rough kind of bad boy way. A lot of tattoos, pet snakes, etc. He isn't intimidating looking though. I think because of the young, good looking, very average stature (like 5' 9" maybe 160). He is technically inclined, has inside commissioned sales experience, is of at least average intelligence, and very outgoing and personable. His look could be a issue in other territories, but is just fine for his assigned one. The tattoos and longer hair shouldn't be an issue. Whether he is a total slacker or not will likely be the deciding factor with this guy.

Also, one of our longer term sales agents just came in for something, she has been doing it about 2 and a half years now. Because of the conversation above, I decided to ask her how she likes the job. She responded I absolutely love it, I thank God every day that I ended up here, there is nowhere else I'd rather be. So I mentioned I was just having a discussion on outside sales, and soul destroying came up. I learned a lot I never knew about her. She explained, she was in high school, working a retail job, got pregnant, dropped out, married him, became a stay at home mom. 8 years and 3 kids later he lost his job and was having a very hard time finding a new one. She thought maybe she would fare better. No education and no work history to speak of, she was hired here for sales. The first couple of months she often cried in her car on the way home and at night she would ask God why he put her here, and how would they get by. She was sure she wouldn't make it past the 6 month review. Then at about 4 months in, something clicked, and she understood how to do the job. Her husband never went back to work, she is covering nursing school for him, so he has a new career. They bought a house. She isn't missing any of the kids things because she can work in the events and after school. She is supporting a family of 5 in a middle income lifestyle by herself when she had no education or marketable skills, and thanking God everyday for the job she initially felt was some sort of punishment. Outside sales really is all what you make of it.

Sales people are a fun bunch. Often ruthless with each other though. And the women especially might surprise you.

Life is weird like that, especially once wet have kids, jobs...or even worse; businesses, along with the inherent responsibilities of each. Especially with cerebral folks like myself; the desire for sex may be nearly omnipresent, but it takes so little to derail it from actually happening.

A good friend described it as the ebb and flow. When the tide is in; it's great. When it's out, you just can't seem to float the boat.
(No reference intended or implied to the lunar / menstrual side of things).

that is what I try to remind myself. Though it makes me cranky sometimes. Generally things are up to more like 4 times a month, then dwindle more and more, until I get pissy about it and call it out, then it improves, repeat. But I try to remember that a lot of people are a lot less and not get too annoyed by it.

yeah, this has been the cycle even pre-kid. I always had the higher drive, but it was okish, got worse at 30ish.

lol, I need subtitles for that. And not only do you get american slang, ghetto slang, but also redneck slang. I have a very varied dialect.
