The market had a minor correction, and the planted their feet the other way announcing the Trump recession. When the economy came roaring back, they can't credit Obama for the markets reaction to reversing all of Obama's policies.

Republicans wanted Obama's policies to fail because they understood that they were going to harm the economy. They would have been thrilled if they were proven Wrong by the booming economy that we should have had about five six years ago. Degenerates are actively hoping the economy tanks. Republicans never wanted that, nor would they have needed it Obama was the only president ever elected during an economic downturn. It was looking like a double top recession when he was re-elected.

Since they didn't watch in 2019, or in 2020, they cannot be considered in the percentage of viewers. So who made up the 20%? Was it Republicans ( doubtful) Democrats ( possible) or was it Independents ( highly likely).

It's the first time in history that is State of the Union Address was held in between a peachment and acquittal. During Clinton's impeachment trial they put it off. I think the reason why Nancy I wanted it to go as usual issue is hoping that Trump would go off like he's doing today but the day before the acquittal

I'm not surprised that he's taking victory laps today. If I were advising him I would have suggested that he be very muted and talk about getting back to the people's business, that sort of thing and play it off like it was no big deal... but there's no chance in hell he would take advice like that.

A point here i didn't consider that you bought up, is the 20% referencing US viewership or what was the audience catchment basin? I didn't watch any of Trumps ( or Obama,Bush jr, Clinton,Bush Sr Reagan etc) SOTU address, why would I? As a Canadian, sorry I have better things to do, just as I expect you do if our Prime Minister is doing something similar.

Be interesting to see the demographics changes of the viewers between the two. I doubt the rating would be good enough to assign a party to each viewer, but just the age and sex would give a good idea of who tuned out.
