women won the right to vote. Some also are wearing
green Equal Rights Amendment pins ahead of an
expected House vote on the issue this month.
Look, too, for red-white-and-blue-striped lapel
pins to highlight climate change.

Many Republicans got to the chamber early to snag
aisle seats. The coveted positions allow them to shake
hands on camera with the president as he makes his way
down the aisle.

Every member of the House, a third of the Senate and
Trump himself are up for reelection.

Trump’s State of the Union speech was a shameless gaslighting

Gaslighting: A form of psychological manipulation
in which a person or a group covertly sows seeds
of doubt in a targeted individual or group,
making them question their own memory,
perception, or judgement.

What Trump was doing, was asking everyone to accept
that he was being truthful, and — this was the “gaslighting”
part — to doubt anyone or anything that said otherwise.

“President Trump’s State of the Union speech once again
was chock-full of stretched facts and dubious figures,”
the Post fact checkers noted.

“Many of these claims have been fact-checked repeatedly,
yet the president persists in using them.”

The president said the U.S. economy today is
“the best it has ever been.”

It isn’t.

He claimed he revived the economy single-handedly
and enacted “historic and record-setting tax cuts.”

He didn’t.

Trump also trolled tens of millions of secular, nonreligious
Americans who deeply value the constitutional separation
of church and state when he kept evoking God,-

Trump endorsed more school “scholarship” programs
(read: tax-funded Christian school vouchers)

Trump falsely implied that American kids aren’t
allowed to pray at school.

It was NBC's Lester Holt on Thursday who expressed regret for
showing the president referring to an investigation into his actions
as “bulls—-.”

“We apologize we were not able to intercept that," Holt said.
“It was a live event. But we wanted to note that it was obviously
not something we wanted children to hear.”
