I like what PaxNurgle says about aligning himself with the light. If a person lives by the light(God), there will not be any darkness(Satan). John 8:12 New International Version (NIV) When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Beautiful verses about the light. https://dailyverses.net/light Maybe you have some verses that you could share?

We have both had very different journeys haven't we, my friend. The good thing is that we know that in the end.....God wins.:rose:

I don't know if you listen to a lot of Christian music or not but I have been thinking about a group that I used to listen to when I first became a Christian since this topic came up. My boyfriend, now husband, and I use to take his little Chevy Chevette to our home towns on some weekends. It played cassette tapes of course. Fun to sing. Memories:

Hope you will finish your story..

Yeah, well, when you are doing exactly what God Himself asks you to do, going to Church, reading the Bible and seeking God with all of your heart, I would call that living in the light. Wouldn't you? The darkness wasn't in me, the darkness was attacking me for obeying the light.

I have been in the middle of sleep to come to realize that I was actually wrestling a demon. The whole Christian life is a struggle against satan and his demons. If you don't have any type of struggle in your Christian walk than I would question my salvation:

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Not only do I listen to a lot of Christian music, but I am a Worship Leader at my Church. I play Christian music in my home every night and it drives them away. If I forget to put the music on, much of the time, I get attacked by them in my sleep. Michael W Smith and Hillsong have some great Worship music to drive them away.

Here are a few good worship songs:

I think, i know you sing, and were in the choir. I can't sing, but I do play the guitar.

I just finally realized that nobody gets my humor besides me. In a thread about God.....preaching to the choir! Oh well. (Preaching to the choir means we have the same opinion on this topic.) Scaring you aren't I.

Do you do campfire songs? I could sing and bring the snacks.

Well I never professed to be the sharpest knife in the drawer,:( so maybe others get your humour, don't judge it by my 'getting it':D Religion doesn't scare me, btw, and I have no issue with anyone of faith who lives it either. You seem that type.

Mostly 60's and 70's music, which I spent many a night playing around campfires...does that count as "campfire songs?"

If you look at the context of that verse you may see it a little different.

Ephesians 6:10-18 New International Version (NIV)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Our faith can conquer all.
Ahh well, we can agree to disagree, brother.

I forgot you said you were worship leader. I love the songs you shared. Love Michael W. Smith.

Did you see they are making a movie about Jeremy Camp and his first wife's story? It should be out in March.

Jeremy Camp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf4ufekHjeg

(Personal life. Camp and his first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp (born October 7, 1979), were married on October 21, 2000. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and died on February 5, 2001, when he was 23 and she was 21.) He had all the fame happening at the same time. I remember all that. Inspiring story.

I know the full context of the verse and I am not changing my mind. We wrestle against the evil spirits, (Principalities, Powers...) That's what it says. These demons have positions of authority in the satanic realm.

We can just agree to disagree. There are definitely struggles for everyone, not just Christians. I just lean on my faith and keep going because I know God has my back. Some may call it a crutch but if it keeps me walking so be it.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

So I think you were at the point in your story where you found a new church for your wife and 2 little ones. You are now a worship leader which is pretty cool. I am trying to figure out how old you are. I have 2 boys. Both in college. Having a little empty nest syndrome. Never thought I would this bad but I miss seeing those guys every day. I can share more about them if you want to hear my story. I am 53 years young. Hope you finish your story. Very interesting.

What do you say to the Deliverance Ministers who have been working with Christians who are tormented by them for 30 years and written 20 books on the subject?

I also lean on Christ and keep going because the Lord does have my back and has rescued me many many times from those things. It's not a crutch, it's wisdom.

More of my story------>>>>

I began attending that Church around Sept. 26, 2001 and left there around May of 2006. I had big issues with that Pastor. He was a very prideful man, which I don't believe to be a right attribute for a Pastor. He was very arrogant and I didn't like him. When I went there, I took discipleship courses to help me grow in the faith. I became active in the Church. I began working on the sound board. 3 Months later they said they needed me in the Choir. A little while later they told me I had a beautiful voice and they wanted me on the Praise Band. A little while later they told me that they needed a Worship Leader and they wanted to teach me how. The Pastor had been a Music Leader for 30 years before he became a Pastor. As I stated before I became the Youth Director as well. After almost 5 years of dealing with a Pastor who treated me horrible, I went on a trip down to Florida with him to 1st Baptist Of Jacksonville. There was a seminar there. I fasted 4 days without any food or water. On the way there, my plane flew through a severe storm and they cancelled all of the flights after mine. Big speakers were there including Jerry Falwell, Dr. David Jeremiah and others. My Pastor said some really rude things to me and finally, I was extremely angry and was going to tell him off once and for all! At that moment, a man came out of no where and stood inbetween us and wouldn't get out of the way. After about a minute, he walked away and my anger had subsided to where I didn't tell him off. I believe it was an angel. Finally, we confronted each other. I realized that it was time to leave. A couple of months later I told him I was leaving.

Because you asked, I would tell the deliverance minister that I am concerned that demons are becoming a focus of ministry. If you're an alcoholic you probably shouldn't go to a bar. If you have trouble with food, like me, you wouldn't hang around buffets. If you don't want evil then don't engage it. It makes demons seem more powerful than they really are. If someone is having problems then I lean on someone who can help. If you are immersed in good, evil will have no place to go but away.

Romans 16:19 New International Version (NIV)
19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.

You also have to be concerned that evil will pull you in.

1 Timothy 4 New International Version (NIV)
4 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

I would also invite him to church.

I thank GOD for Deliverance Ministers. You do have to be careful not to find one who is steeped in false doctrine. Just because they are Deliverence Ministers doesn't mean that they are obsessed with demons. It means that they specialize in helping people who are oppressed by them. Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean it's not real. Everyone is oppressed by them, but not always in the same way. My oppression is very in the open because I recognize them for what they really are. Perhaps you don't which is why you don't understand what demonic oppression is. I don't dwell on demons. They attack me regardless of what I am thinking about at that time. I am not worried about it because I know how to fight back and it is in the power of God. Evil isn't pulling me in. You are starting to use verses to make your point that have nothing to do with oppression. Abandoning the faith has nothing to do with demonic oppression. It has to do with denying the fundamental aspects of the faith, namely, salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone, believing in your heart that He died and rose again, shedding His blood as a sacrifice for your sins. To deny any of that or to ADD to any of that as the means of Salvation, is to follow a corrupt gospel. That is what it is talking about. Satan has no power to pull me in other than to try and deceive me through false beliefs about salvation and other issues.

Ironically, I would caution you especially about false beliefs and false doctrines.

You need to be mindful of what Jesus really preached when He walked this earth, and the message he brought- one of love, compassion, care for the less fortunate, forgiveness, and tolerance.

And as a Christian myself, I fight against the greed, intolerance, corruption, lack of compassion and dishonestly I see in society today, especially from our leaders. While I fight against these things, I see you blindly and stubbornly fight FOR them. That's why, while I admire your struggles against the dark spiritual entities, I am honestly quite worried about you. I see America in a dark place right now, and you applauding right along with it. This saddens me greatly.

That means you are a Republican as you should be. Because the greed, intolerance, corruption and lack of compassion really do come from the Democrats. I fight against them which is why I support Trump and the Republicans. The facts show that. America is in a dark place right now...against Democrats who would change America into a Socialist, Communists Nation that our forefathers warned us repeatedly against. We see it's failure in Venezuala, Spain, France the Soviet union, China, N Korea....and on and on it goes. Turm is using Capitalism to create the greatest economy in US history.
Capitalism is so much better than Socialism.

Oh Xfrodo,

I am frustrated. Not because I am mad, but because I really do care. I haven't commented on someone else's story until now. It is your experience but I am really concerned. I will address it, but I won't again unless you ask me something.

Your story breaks my heart. Please really take a look at it. Go back to the beginning and take a piece of paper. Put on one side things that aren't about demons and the other side things that are. I think you will discover something.

I have been a Christian for 35 years. I haven't written 20 books but I have spent that time studying God's book. Really study oppression. If you look at all the scriptures about oppression most are in the old testament. The couple that are in the New Testament are usually taken out of context, but when you look you are shown a way out. You are right I have not shared scripture verses lately about oppression because we don't need to be oppressed. Christ gave everything so we can overcome.

I have to admit that I am really affected by the experiences you have had. To wake up and have demons sexually touching you and to be under attack all the time.

I have shared that I was sexually abused. Ironically, it was when I was asleep. I woke up to it. I don't put the blame on God or Satan. The fact that God gives us choices allows for the possibility that someone will make a bad choice that affects someone who is innocent. I don't think I know anybody who would give up the opportunity to choose how they live their life though. I don't blame Satan because I think it is a cop out. "The Devil made me do it!" Really people need to take responsibility for their choices. What would you have told me if I had come to you when I was 18 and told you I had been raped? Would you say: "Well, believe in Christ and if you are a good Christian you will be tormented and under constant attack. If you aren't then you are doing it wrong. If you get tired and can't fight, tormentors take over then you are going to hell." I am sorry I would not touch that with a ten foot pole. The bible is about hope.

When Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was he said to love one another. He is also the Prince of Peace. I will leave you with scriptures about peace. https://dailyverses.net/peace Please, for me, really read them.

I truly care xfrodo. I have been thinking of you and will continue to think of you. It hurts my heart that this is happening.

Your friend in Christ,
Kathy

Your friend in Christ,
Kathy

I have been a Christian for about 44 years and I am 48. While I appreciate that you care, it is very obvious to me that you completely lack understanding in this area as most Christians do, even Pastors. Even my own Pastor didn't understand this probably because they have never experienced it the way I have. Demons are real. Demonic attacks are real, even if you deny them. Even if a person is serving the Lord with all of their heart, they will be attacked. The attacks are about 90% better since seeing these Christian Deliverance Ministers who cast them into the pit through the power of the Lord. I felt immediate relief when this happened. Demons are Scriptural and Christ and the Disciples dealt with them so it shouldn't be a surprise to you that they are real. I have been through a LOT more than what I shared with you and many thing that God has done in my life as well. It goes very deep and it has to do with my calling. Honestly, the only reason I am talking about demons is because you are bringing it up to me, because it's just a normal part of my life now that I deal with. I don't like it, but I have learned to be content and know that God is in Control and has a purpose for it. Yes Christ gave everything so we could overcome, but we don't truly overcome this stuff until after Christ returns and evil is judged. In this life we will have tribulation, that's what Christ said. This life isn't about comfort and fun, there will be tribulation.

Demonic attacks don't mean that I am not a Christian, for they began when I chose to OBEY the Lord and chose to DISOBEY satan. I want you to think about that. God is in a war with satan. Let me tell you more of my story and maybe it will shed more light on what's happening to me. I also intend to write a book about my experiences one day. Would you like me to continue with my story?
