In real life I hear stories that I can add "unmentioned stuff" into to create tales appropriate for an erotic story web-site. I just fill in the innuendo.

But being new here, I have a question regarding Categories. A couple people have written on this subject that an author should post a story where they believe it will find the most receptive audience.

I could be wrong but while huge the Incest/Taboo category seems to have a "oh this is just so wrong- it's hot- let's do it" vibe. I would love to read the opinions of those with some experience.

story #1) A college student returns home for the summer and is dismayed to hear her unattached mother moping and belly-aching about being alone. Mom isn't bad, but she has given up. Daughter knows a guy from college who is quite dominant and she supplies him with the information to allow him to "take charge of mom." It isn't really incest because while she is directing the activity she isn't participating, (or is it? or BDSM or? May/ December?)

story #2) College aged or older young adults return to a group home they grew up in as the result of a health problem experienced by one of the adults who ran the home. These people who were platonic friends growing up rekindle freindships and they realize that their old "best friends" are more compatible and thus more suitable lovers than the "average bear." (Not related=no incest. Or? Coupling? Or?)

Thanks to anyone who has taken the time to read this far...

A) definitely Mature. It's one of the biggest categories and they love mom stuff.

B) Why not make them both virgins (went to religious schools) and make it a First Time story. Lots of readers there and many of them love the deep connections and romance elements.

Many stories have multiple fetishes. You need to pick the main one. When I used to write, I generally tended to go with the heavier category. For example, if it has fetish play, but is also non-con - go with non-con. If it has both non-con but also the villain is an alien - go with sci-fi.
The idea is to put it in a category where your story would upset the least people (obviously if it fits there). People who like non-con will often be turned off by non-human stuff. While non-human crowd will be ok with a bit of non-con.

But you should also use all 10 tags available to mention the rest of fetishes and trigger themes.

A) if you plan to have anything kinky during sex scenes, ether BDSM or fetish will do. This is definitely not incest, because they don't have sex. Mature is a milder category than fetish or BDSM, and so it gets overridden, kinda.

B) not incest. Unless they view each other like actual family, i.e. like brothers and sisters.
This could be even casual "straight" depending on content. Could be romance, if their relationship is not all sexual and plays a significant part in the story.. More info is needed.

First, read this: https://literotica.com/beta/s/love-your-readers-categories

This is as close as there is to a definitive guide to categories on Literotica and a guide to which category to choose when your story may go in more than one.

Some categories are "trump" categories, which means that the story will go in that category if it can belong there but also can belong in another. Incest is a trump category.

Re your two ideas, I agree with HeyAll.

I agree with Nezhul. Go with whatever category is heaviest, but make sure you add tags for the other categories.

1) I'd go with BDSM, but Mature would work too. Not incest since the daughter isn't actually in on
the action
2) Not blood related is only incest if they're step/foster siblings. Maybe Novels/Novellas - or
Romance if it's a short/one chapter story
