Non-con story idea

Recently, I've been attempting to shake off the metric ton of writing rust I have built up with a couple of especially "out there" story ideas. One of them is in Non-Con, a category I have not written before.

It is a multi-chaptered story idea. Chapter one is how a woman who has joined a huge financial organization is taken under the wing of the old, and soon-to-be-retired, CEO as his protege. He promises the world to her professionally, but at a price. Think Harvey Weinstein meets Gordon Gekko. Not quite hard non-consent, but heavy reluctance because she clearly does not want this, but goes through with it anyway.

The second chapter picks up 10 years after the first. The CEO has now retired and she has risen in the ranks. She is one of the most powerful women in finance and the company has grown exponentially in the last 10 years. As has her power, influence and money

Inwardly she's an alcoholic, chain smoking, pill popping train wreck. Her true self carefully managed and kept under wraps by her team. Only a curated image shown to the public.

Also, she's on the lookout for vulnerable men and women who join as her underlings. What happened to her, she does to them many times over. Her way of dealing... from victim to victimizer.

How does it sound? Workable, I hope.

That sounds like some pretty grim stuff. With the right dressing, this would make a gripping thriller with high erotic overtones, especially if you introduce an undercover cop who tries to dig up some dirt on said woman and gets tangled up in her games. And with cop, I mean either a male or female.

I'd totally read that.

I'm with Blind Justice. I definitely thnk that would be workable, and you could go some pretty dark psychological places if you were inclined. There's certainly an audience for that (including me some days). Does she destroy herself? Does someone blow the whistle on her? Does she get her act together and try to make amends? SO many possibilities.

Yes, it's workable. Go for it, I'd say.

Just don't call her Madelyn - my character could be a prototype for your woman, except there's always consent in my worlds, even if it's sometimes manipulation.

I have a GM story in the sr71plt file that does that--employee reluctantly gives himself to move up in the organization and then does others who want to move up. A perpetual spiral. It did fine here.

If you get the femdom right, I'll read it.

If I were writing it, she would "retire" the CEO herself.

I advise you to fully think through the "intervening ten years" before the flash-forward -- those years will contain a powerful story too

I was not thinking of proper femdom in this case. More a woman who knows she owns every one and every thing of every room she walks in to. It's only a matter of taking a fancy to someone and then she has them.

Ropes and cuffs are far less binding than veiled and not-veiled threats of what she could do to someone's life if she were so inclined.

I think your'e majorly confusing femdom with BDSM - they're very different things! :)

The brilliant 1933 pre-Hayes movie "Baby Face" is a story of a girl's rise to power in a corporation - somewhat similar in storyline to your idea.

To me, the foundation of the story appears to be more about a psychosis; (a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality.) "Inwardly she's an alcoholic, chain smoking, pill popping train wreck. Her true self carefully managed and kept under wraps by her team. Only a curated image shown to the public." Primarily, the protagonist is coercing with the threat of unemployment. Perhaps some elements of BDSM play a part in what she does to her victims though.

Not that there is anything wrong with that. It's a part of the human condition. I probably don't have the mindset to understand the non-con reader very well. But my initial thought based only on the brief description is; How does this turn into an enjoyable experience for the characters? Am I missing something in the story arc?

And is it really non-con? It may fit the Reluctance ~ fantasies of control. But it does not seem to fit non-consent as well IMO.

As can be seen from the comments, there is no doubt an audience for this. I guess that's all that matters.

You have a beginning and an end, but no middle. The interesting story is how she went from victim to tormentor. In my opinion, the ten year gap is where the real story takes place
