House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) surprised his colleagues and the media by announcing late Thursday night that the votes on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump would be postponed until 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Everyone — Democrats, Republicans, and journalists — had expected a vote, after a debate that began at 7:00 p.m. the night before, continued well into the night, reconvened at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, and ended at about 11:15 p.m.

Can't decide what to charge him with?

Best line I've heard on the subject is, "The democrats have changed their minds on what to charge Trump with as often as a baby needs their diaper changed, and for the same reason."

They can't decide what lie they want to use

I hope to GOD these fools get buried in November.

Look at the push-back in the UK. Their media was insisting that it would be close. Their media insisted that Trump's presence actually hurt Johnson. Voters said fuck you.

Nobody is going to be interested in socialism after seeing the contrast between Obama's anemic, Keynesian "Green Energy" economy and Trump's leave-capital-in-the-hands-of-capitalists economy.

Every DA in the nation does that.

Interesting. Did not know Trump had sent some presents to Johnson, which would be surprising after Johnson slapped that "Impeach Me" sign on Trump's back during the NATO summit.

The GOP had their strategy ready: get the media to report that there was "screaming back and forth" when only one side was doing the screaming (predictably, this did work), and then drag out the proceedings with irrelevant speeches and other timewasters to insure that there couldn't be a vote until the wee hours so they could claim "those Dems are so ashamed of what they're doing that they impeached Trump in the middle of the night!" Nadler pissed all over their little plan and they had yet another fit. Good.

Yeah, too bad about infringing on their sense of entitlement. Maybe the 2018 vote has not quite sunk in yet.

But, it sure is fun to watch the Republicans squeal. When the gavel came down, the look on the ranking member's face was the best Christmas present of the season.

This, of course, is the correct account of what happened.

Jerry "the Penguin" Nadler prefers to perform in front of a bigger audience.

ReichGuide is starting to catch on to one of the principles of politics.

You go, guy!

And kudos to Nadler for not playing into the Republicans' midnight-vote-cloak-of-darkness narrative, as described by Wrong Element.

Maybe we'll be blessed with another read from FLIM-FLAM artist William Kleinknecht.

Nadler is a failure as a man an as an American. His efforts are destined for the political shit can. Hopefully he'll be tossed into it as well by a 'woke' constituency.

It's good that you and other Deplorables on this thread are openly discussing your hurt feelings related to Nadler leading a humiliating vote by the Judiciary Committee.

Go ahead and get it all out. No shame in that (and it might help me win the bet I placed about Deplorable posting on Christmas Day).

Quite agree. The diaper being full of shit, just like the repubs.

"We went into the day thinking we were going to vote yesterday also, but my Republican colleagues offered amendment after amendment and it was clear that this was going to go well into the night, and this is the most consequential vote most members of Congress will ever cast. The American people deserve to see it. It ought to take place in the light of day.

This is the most important thing we’re going to do in the committee," he continued. "Of course we shouldn’t rush it. So we decided to go home, take a break and come back and actually have this vote today after everyone has had an opportunity to think about what they heard over the past two days about the president’s abuse of power and then the obstruction of Congress that led us to this moment to begin with." -Representative Ted Deutch Democrat, FL.

After giving sorrowful, prayerful, totally-not-gleeful deliberation overnight, all 23 Democrats cast their totally non-partisan votes in favor of impeachment. Huzzah!

Were any Republican amendments accepted?;)
