We always put our tree up a week before Christmas and took it down on New Years. I still put up then or even closer to Christmas but I try to keep it up through Epiphany/ Little Christmas.

I ran across this the other day and it gave me a laugh. Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) is quite the character, and gives very complicated directions.

I can see him now, watching his little daughter running around the house giving the servants instructions that need to be followed to the letter, else he will die.

I first heard this when I was in high school on a classical music station that had a late night show. I remember playing this for an Australian student I knew at the time and seeing him turn red (I suspect this was a favorite childhood song, it would have been for me if I had grown up there). I'm sure all of the Australians already know and the rest of you will have to suffer through my singing. It will still bring a smile to your face.
