❄🎁Holiday Audios🎁❄

I am so enjoying this thread! I love hearing all your voices, and the songs and passages you all picked. The carolers just left my house, and I'm completely, totally in the Christmas spirit now, so I'll just leave mine here.

Can't sing? That's okay, neither can I, but I'll still croak out a few bars of Santa Baby at some point. Stumble over words? Stage fright? That's okay; have a drink and listen to the rest of us...or have a few more drinks and join in!

And since I started this thread, I get the easiest poem of all! 😜

I should have listened to the others on this thread before recording mine! I kinda enjoy the contrast....I’m speaking English, I promise! 🤦🏻*♀️

The Fir Tree by Hans Christian Andersen

I applaud you for your length and stamina! That was one hell of a reading. 👏

An excerpt of A Christmas Carol. I ain't doing the whole thing :D
I also haven't listened before uploading, so there's that...

*smirks* I really, really want to hear you do Mrs. Cratchit's voice.

While not a Christmas poem, I think this is in the spirt “Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward men”. It also has the virtue of being short (about 1:30).

First off, welcome to lit and this thread! Secondly, you have a fabulous voice and have introduced me to a new poem- many thanks for that.

😁 No worries, hon! Like you said, it's great to hear the contrast in voices and to see who picks what selection.

There was some debate about that soliloquy but Schultz insisted. I have always loved it. Thank you

A Christmas poem

This is kind of sweet. https://www.***********/s/p25qzf0lu2xufml/Two**0letters**0to**0Santa.mp3?dl=0

I ran across this the other day and it gave me a laugh. Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) is quite the character, and gives very complicated directions.

I can see him now, watching his little daughter running around the house giving the servants instructions that need to be followed to the letter, else he will die.

Enjoy. https://voca.ro/n1M6B2HFIcB

Since an Australian hasn't

I first heard this when I was in high school on a classical music station that had a late night show. I remember playing this for an Australian student I knew at the time and seeing him turn red (I suspect this was a favorite childhood song, it would have been for me if I had grown up there). I'm sure all of the Australians already know and the rest of you will have to suffer through my singing. It will still bring a smile to your face.
