House Impeachment Hearings

That's about it. Unconventional political warfare.;)

The article makes all the points that I have made when the usual nitwits lay claim to invincibility because of Stalwell's nukes.

No major city has sufficient inventory to feed itself for more than 3 days. Huge warehouses are taking up the entire south side of the Phoenix metropolitan area because nobody wants to build anything in California. There's exactly two roads and a rail line between Arizona and California's starvation.

Without intact aqueducts, they don't even have sufficient water for drinking from wells, much less enough water for showers and sanitation.

. . .and California is far more self-sufficient than any other big blue metropolis that I can think of.

Except water.

In 44 BC Julius Caesar was impeached, rather violently but impeached none the less. Trump has several general qualities in common with ole Julius. A populist reformer with great support of the military. Obviously there are great differences in how they came to power due to the significant differences in government structure. But the general conflict was Julius and the populace against the elites of Rome.

Julius's assassination led to the end of the Roman Republic and the institution of a true Imperial Dictatorship. Only a fool would look forward to the same happening here let alone being instrumental in bringing it about.

Impeachment and removal by the Senate IS political assassination by any other name.

They have cried wolf so many times that Trump's "It's a witchhunt!!" defense is believed by his base even when and if he should he curbed.

Their masturbatory fantasies about running him out of office does their side no favors. It might marginally get out the vote for the especially rabid but that is not going to be sufficient to counter the push back from Trump supporters and alienating the middle.

As you point out they really should be careful what they wish for in the highly unlikely event that they are able to remove him from office that would be an absolute disaster for them.

All of the conspirators involved in Julius's assassination eventually ended up figuratively hanging from the lamp posts, Augustus made damn sure of that.

The democrats might have served themselves better by going about the peoples business while opposing Trump in the arena of ideas. Give Trump the wins where it served everyone's interests and fight back where it didn't. He's quite adroit at shooting himself in the foot on a regular basis. Run a reasonable candidate that they might have had a chance. They chose a different path.

Biden will be the dem candidate, it's already been decided. He'll give trump a run for his money.

A lot of people here sure do fantasize about Trump being removed from office.

When you're designated "dictator for life", beware the ides of March.

Here's an interesting read.

4GW impeachment

After reading the article, which by the way is the biggest bunch of contrived bullshit I've ever read, then reading your opinions, I am almost without words. That anyone who professes to be intelligent could believe any part of what was said by the author, or spout the idiotic dooms day forecasts that you two do scares the shit out of me. It is no wonder Trump has the support he has when people believe this kind of crap.

So it's your prognostication that there will be a revolution and blood in the streets if Trump is impeached? That the city and country folk will be at each others throats? From what you have said you must believe that the entirety of the farmers in our country will either let there crops rot in the field or burn them so that the city folk will be starved into submission. So how will all those farmers pay their bills? Or are they going to burn the banks too?

It is beyond my imagination to picture such stupidity.

Fuck....just fuck.....

Well, the author is well known and respected, you aren't. We'll take that into consideration.

You notice how those on the left always think that people are somehow evolved in some Darwinian fantasy beyond violence? That their agenda is markedly different than the last time it ended as it inevitably does.

Violence is happening right now all over the world for far less.

What part of free people don't accept the yoke of oppression willingly do the not get?

Maybe it's because of all this fantasy oppression that they talk about that they don't understand what happens when you actually oppress people.

Everyone has dreams. The problem is is that shattered dreams produce very angry irrational people.

There’s a difference between a dream and a preference. I’d prefer he weren’t President, but I’m willing to wait until next November to see that fulfilled. (Though impeachment for extortion is likely warranted.)

"Well known"? yes
"respected"? not at all.

Lind was a career bureaucrat who fashioned himself a "military strategery expert". He never served a day in the military but knew more about strategery than generals, y'know?

When that schtick wore thin, he reinvented himself, becoming a rabid proponent of the Frankfurt School Conspiracy Theory, which holds that those nassssty Jews are taking over America by subverting American culture.

He even wrote a thinly veiled "Christian Revenge Porn" apocalyptic fantasy about dedicated Christians overthrowing Jews and Marxist governments in a dystopian future (under a pseudonym, natch).

One can readily see how someone like you would exalt someone like Lind.

Well.... Ok then.

I think the only question you didn't answer was the one where it was asked if anything he wrote was untrue.

Yes. Lind's conjecture that Trump supporters will not acknowlege a win by Elizabeth Warren in 2020 under any circumstances. They will consider her an "illegitimate president" and war will start.

That, dear boy, is utter right wing fantasy.

Moar like left-wing projection.

Didn't read the op-ed that Grandpa Boxwine linked us to, did you Que?

This summary:

Shows why you typical got poor marks on your book reports. You don't seem to have the requisite reading comprehension to discern the central theme of a piece.

For starters, Warren will not win the primary. Anyone who believes so needs hospitalized.

Second, he's right. That you choose to not believe it doesn't mean he isn't correct. There are many people who will stand up to an oppressive government that attempts to unlawfully confiscate their property and suppress their freedoms and liberties. Warren's announced proposals do exactly that. To the point that even Bernie acknowledges that what she's proposing is in fact unconstitutional.

So no, it's not a "right wing fantasy", it's fact. The political battle plans have already been drawn. The first step is to ensure Trump is reelected.

That, "dear boy", is how you actually win a war.

The Democrat leadership is alleging bribery and many here echo that sentiment out of ignorance. The federal Bribery Statute requires "corrupt intent" and the SCOTUS has determined that anti corruption laws be narrowly construed to bring that element to the forefront. My advice to you and the rest of those alleging bribery is to know and understand the difference between actus reus and mens rea before blithely shooting your mouth off.

SO if one solicits a bribe, with intent to receive a bribe, does that get us there?

Absoposilutely!

Draw up those articles of impeachment and vote on them tommorow, first thing!
