They start today. Looking at with the Republicans have set up in the room, reading the focus of some postered here, I think of this James Bryce quote someone referenced today:

A bold President who knew himself to be supported by a majority in the country, might be tempted to override the law. He might be a tyrant, not against the masses, but with the masses.

The sham starts today, lead by the most corrupt, conflicted, dishonest, and untruthful member of Congress in modern times.

I love this matchup between Schiff and Nunes, an outstanding contrast in both style and substance.

And, I am glad Nunes is still burrowing deep into the rabbit hole of media/Deep State conspiracy against Trump. It looks like the Republicans have decided once again to double down on their paranoid conspiracy theories.

Schiff wouldn't make a pimple of Nunes' ass.

my only issue with Schiff's opening statement is the odd lapse into more emotionally-loaded language. i'd have preferred him to stick to entirely 'flat' language pertaining to the facts.

as for nunes, he began lying as soon as he opened his mouth and didn't stop till he closed it, managing to insult the career-diplomat witnesses and setting the intent on their part--through the nature of his statements--of turning this into a farce in protection of their leader

Not watching. I no longer care about the impeachment circus in DC.

If Trump is impeached, the Senate won't remove him. When that happens the D's lose face even though they'll crow like crazy that they were right.

Cries of: "We did it! We beat him! We WON!" are meaningless when your opponent stands before America on live TV and swears the Oath of Office for the President of the United States for the second time.

OTOH, the fact that Horowitz's report is STILL not finished, months after it was promised, and promised, and promised again, tells me the D's and the deep state are winning slowly but surely. The US is falling, and will continue to fall, from grace as more and more people line up to surrender their heritage and freedom in the name of "social justice".

We are doomed as a nation and as the world leader unless EVERYONE pulls their heads out of their asses and realizes that we're being lied to by our government for THEIR benefit, not ours.

It's disgusting and while I cannot do anything about it, that doesn't mean I have to hang on it like I'm waiting for the next exciting episode of "The Kardashians do fuck all but get paid millions anyway". Your mileage may vary.

That's their only audience. It's only because of the time I spend here that I had the faintest idea of what Nunes was talking about.

What they aren't talking about: Donald Trump and anything he did. It's indefensible and they aren't defending it.

R.G.Heather Arpy's one note samba is getting old. They(it) can't even form a new original thought any more. I keep wondering how it can be logged into three or more accounts at the same time.

I agree, I just wanted to hear both opening statements. I'm working today so will hear the highlights later on.

Keep the faith we aren't doomed yet. This too will collapse and leave the Democrats looking like the conspirators they are. This isn't just an attack on Trump. This is an attack by Democrats and the unelected administrative state on America and the 63 million who put him in office. People are beginning to realize it as well. It will fail.

I see that Whiteguide and ArpyDerpy have inserted their pointy heads firmly in the sand.

Ditka, but it's close.

(Seriously, Taylor does have the perfect voice for this deposition. He's also very well-spoken. Bad news for Deplorables.)

Too bad Mueller couldn’t present himself as well.

Well, I am biased, but I don't think this is going well for the people who were demanding public hearings.

And it just got a lot worse.
