Whistleblower

One wonders what the IG would have thought if the "whistleblower" had explained prior to filing his complaint on the recently amended form that he'd already brought all of this to the attention of the chairman of the intelligence Committee of the House of Representatives.

Make it seem a lot less "urgent," doesn't it?

Wow the ignorance is strong in this one...

The Whistleblower Complaint Has Largely Been Corroborated. Here's How

We have heard what the whistleblower has to say. Here it is laid out and color coded with corroborations. Feel free to continue undermining our national security.

Trump has spent weeks questioning the whistleblower's motives and slamming the account for being inaccurate. But as this annotation shows, most of the complaint has been corroborated during closed-door depositions of administration officials, through public statements and from a rough transcript of the call itself, released by the White House.

I can remember certain people making the same claim about the Steele Dossier. I wonder whatever happened to that entire line of BS. Could it be the same here?

Probably. Especially since we have the transcript and Schiffty Schiff won't let the WB testify.

Seems a whole lot that dossier was confirmed, not some of the more salacious bits though. Well that was the news I read/heard/saw, from basically every news organization around the world, excepting Fox of course.

Great. So let's hear from this highly knowledgeable "whistleblower" who was privy to absolutely nothing that he filed the complaint about and have him lay out the groundwork and then fill in how he came to know so much about a call he was not a part of or briefed on in the course of his official duties.

Why are you so opposed to having him testify about his urgent and credible concerns. Why is Schiff delaying hearing these urgent concerns?

The IG has very little actual authority, they cannot subpoena witnesses or documents for example. What the IG is authorized to do is investigate claims brought to them. Claims such as those brought by the WB would be "urgent and credible" and worthy of investigation if true.

Which they are, it seems.

Where the D's (and you) go wrong is that the WB didn't actually witness anything, concealed that facet from the IG's office, and then continued to conceal all kinds of other FACTS which would have affected the "urgent and credible" nature of the claims made by the WB had they been revealed.

Where does it say they have to be an eye witness? And do you have credible links to back up your claim? I googled and didn’t see the wb concealed they weren’t an eye witness.

Now that we know what occurred and what didn't, Schiffty Schiff doesn't want the originator of the probe to testify in any manner whatsoever. I suspect that's because if the WB does testify, Schiff's personal and direct involvement in the whole affair will be brought to light. So he's obstructing justice while loudly claiming that Trump is the one doing so even as they shift the focus of the probe from the WB to parsing phrases from the Mueller report once again.

Links?

I'm still wondering where the fuck the Senate is in all of this.

They’re busy trying to figure out how to save their own asses.

It's not my life's work to educate, but I did learn a bit about teaching. One tidbit a teacher friend of mine said " is you can offer all the mechanisms to help one learn, however if the student's mind is closed, you must learn to accept that as truth, and not a criticism on your ability as a teacher."

"The Steele dossier will never go away now. It has entered the pantheon of Trumpist mythology about 2016, where facts don’t matter, alongside other nasty lies such as “illegal FISA warrants,””illegal wiretaps,” and “Seth Rich was killed by a Hillary Clinton death squad.” That some of these unpleasant fabrications, which have been cited nonstop by the president and his minions, are of Kremlin origin does not appear to be a coincidence."

That's funny because what I heard is those that can't do, teach.

Facts do matter. Do you have any?

Yes I have facts, you show me yours, I'll show you mine.:D

Yep, the Trumpettes here are only beating the whistleblower drum to try to deflect for lack of a substantive defense. They've been led to the truth several times. It's time to just ignore this line of deflection from them. What will happen with the whistleblower will happen and if Trump and minions keep bullying and trying to intimidate him/her and anyone else who would point to Trump's corruption/criminality/treason, that can just be add to the pile of his obstruction of justice and the board Trumpette's sleaziness.

Republicans will just have to start their own investigation into the oranges of the impeachment inquiry. Good luck getting Barr to testify.

Which they are, it seems.

Yet, for some reason Schiff doesn't want or need the WB to testify to those "urgent and credible" matters. Which kind of indicates that those "urgent and credible" things aren't validated. Otherwise one could reasonably suppose they'd be front and center of the controversy instead of suddenly taking a back burner position.

I didn't say "eye" witness. I said "witness".

From there, the WB didn't "witness" anything except other people giving their opinions about something the WB wasn't cleared to hear.

The fact that some people gave the WB classified info without him being cleared to receive that info is troubling. I want to know who provided inside intel to the WB and what else they've been telling him and/or other people.

However, Schiff (and you) seem to be good with spewing classified information everywhere. Why is that when you're all uptight about national security all of a sudden?

It's front page news and no one is going to do your homework for you. If you're not conversant on the facts of the topic, sit down, STFU, and try to (quietly) keep up with the rest of the class.

They’re busy trying to figure out how to save their own asses.

That doesn't excuse them from doing their jobs now. It seems to me that if they'd DO their dam jobs, they wouldn't have to be worried about saving their asses and jobs now would they?

I'm still wondering where the fuck the Senate is in all of this.

Not involved at all ... yet, since this is the House portion. Lyin' Lindsey and Moscow Mitch will get their turn when it's their turn ... under the eye of Roberts.

The Senate has an intelligence committee and the complaint by the WB would be within their authority and duty to investigate.

Why aren't they?

Trump retweeted an article from Gregg Jarrett with the title, “Concerns, opinions and hearsay are not evidence.”

So there is no reason for the whistleblower to testify.

Well, that instruction is coming from the TOP.

Schiff is fortunate to have that sort of support for his decisions.

Have to agree with you that the "whistleblower" has never had any information relevant to the Ukrainian phone call. That just means he is not an effective witness for team Schiff. Which is why Schiff is avoiding having him testi-lie.

He does, however have first hand knowledge of his part in receiving and disseminating classified information, making false statements, and the fraud that was the beginning of this phony impeachment proceeding.

Just because you all are desperate that he doesn't speak to the things that he actually knows and a actually witnessed regarding the impetus for this latest effort to oust Trump doesn't mean that he's not a witness to things that need to be aired in public.

What are the "oranges of impeachment," and why aren't Coati the Boomer, BoomerDownSouth, and BoomerZumi concerned about that unintelligible sentence?

No, you obviously don't have any facts.

You made a gratuitous assertion I denied your gratuitous assertion and now you're deflecting. Try again.

It is not a "quote" it is an aphorism. Have your teacher friend explain the difference to you.

No one is "beating the whistleblower drum."

The thread is ABOUT the whistleblower. That's why the thread title is ""Whistleblower."

Who you all are running from, as you should. When he is subpeoned in the Senate as a hostile witness, if this nonsense gets that far, Team Schiff will lose what little credibility it has.
