Help us settle an ongoing discussion. He loves using really girthy dildos on me. Like up to 8 inches in girth. If we use a vib also I cum really hard. Often more than once. The discussion is about the effects it has on my vagina. I definitely feel that it has made me looser. He said he has read that doesn’t happen. Would love to hear from people with experience doing this to settle this. Thanks

Nope. Total myth. The vagina stretches during sex/childbirth, sure, but it springs right back.

Why does it feel so different then

"[After childbirth] the vagina can feel looser, softer and more 'open' ... Your vagina probably won't return completely to its pre-birth shape, but this shouldn't be a problem." Dr Suzy Elneil, consultant in urogynaecology at University College Hospital, London.

"The vagina may get looser after having a baby as a result of the pelvic floor muscles around the vagina getting stretched out. "

This is a good article too.

"If you stretch elastic a great deal, over time, it fatigues and no longer snaps back entirely. That can happen to the vaginas of young women after multiple births. Their vaginal muscles fatigue and no longer fully contract. In addition, aging fatigues vaginal muscle. Whether or not women have given birth, as they grow older, they may complain of looseness."

Vagina fatigue.

Sorry. Nothing "springs right back" to how it was before it was stretched. If you feel looser, you're probably not wrong.

One experiment is worth a thousand expert opinions. Tell your hubby you want to use one of those girthy dildos on his asshole and see if it gets looser.

It depends...

It depends how tight you were to begin with. Also, it depends if you are measuring girth by diameter or circumference. If you are talking about diameter than you will end up a bit stretched.

By definition, girth is the circumference of an item at its widest point.

I think I can say here. The toy is called American bombshell war daddy. Go check it and see what you think.

How come when a couple stops have sex , that the vagina gets tighter? So I would think it will get looser with a fatter cock and child birth. So I think it can get stretched and loose, but also get real tight from lack of intercourse.

This is a fairly complicated question and answer, but (at the risk of over simplifying) the short answer the female reproductive system is more than just the vagina. It is a system that depends on many things working together, including hormones, blood supply, the pelvic floor, and so on.

The vaginal canal muscles in an unaroused state are folded like an accordion. They normally relax and lengthens during intercourse in response to stimulation. The vagina also has a sphincter called the bulbocavernosus muscle that is also somewhat contracted naturally and relaxes during sex. Both require blood flow and hormones.

The muscles are elastic, and do ordinarily return to normal after sex, especially in younger women. But, after significant stretching, over time, the muscles fatigue and no longer snap back entirely. That can happen to the vaginas of young women after multiple births. Their vaginal muscles fatigue and no longer fully contract. In addition, aging fatigues vaginal muscle. Whether or not women have given birth, as they grow older, they may complain of looseness. Regularly stretching the muscles with big sex toys can contribute to the eventual loss of elasticity.

Anything that changes the vagina's ability to respond to arousal can make it feel tighter, because the muscles aren't relaxing. Women go through hormonal changes as they get older that affect the ability to relax. Often, when couples stop having sex it is because they are aging and each going through hormonal changes. The vessels carrying blood harden and shrink with age too, reducing blood flow. The effects of aging can actually be mitigated by having sex. Regular sexual activity encourages blood flow, which keeps the blood vessels and tissue healthy. A woman who hasn't had sex for a long time may have decreased blood flow, which will be experienced as tightness.

It's also possible that after not having sex for a while, she's nervous and the muscles are clenched in response.

All probably over-simplified, but the basic point here is that muscles are normally contracted when not aroused and relax during arousal. Repeated stretching over time can cause them to lose elasticity, and so can aging.

So it might be a combination of me now being 47 with two kids and using big toys.

Yes. Sounds about right. You're about my wife's age, and we've been together for so long that I can say she's looser now for sure, but for us that's a good thing. When we first got married she had problems taking me, and cowgirl would stretch her so badly she'd end up crying. Now we fit so much better :).

Kegel exercises won't tighten the vaginal muscles themselves, but they can strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and make the vagina feel tighter.

If you like the stretchy feeling of the dildos your husband likes, great. If you don't, tell him to stop and find something smaller.
