Even in my submissions that aren't in Humour/Satire, I have a difficult time not injecting parody or variants thereof into my stories. I wrote a scene where one of my tritagonists had a dream, and in that dream, she had to defend her lifestyle choices from Santa.
While he gave her a psychic dressing down, not only did Santa pin her and give her a lot of Christmas cheer, but he did it while singing a parody of 'Beauty School Dropout' from the movie musical 'Grease' to her. The song was titled 'Big-Titted Airhead', and he had a chorus of sexy girl elves singing backup while he ravaged Jeanie.
Jeanie protestesed the whole time, but still let him go to town on her, because she is indeed a big-titted airhead. THAT she doesn't even try to deny. When she wakes up, she takes the dream as a sign that when she goes to L.A., she should fuck Frankie Avalon.
I can't help it, I am powerless before the urge to do weird shit like that. I need to do something else wacky and Christmas-y this year as well.
How about the rest of you? Does anyone else have a nigh-on crippling compulsion to parody things in their stories?
