I am white. I've gone through DNA testing, and according to the results, my father was wrong about us being part native American. It isn't something that matters so much to me, but it's part of the topic.

The last woman I dated before getting married to my wife was black. This did not bother me or my wife. I didn't find dating a black woman any different from dating any other woman, aside from her hair being scratchy. I would never have dated my wife, but the then-girlfriend went through a month with no time for me. When my then-just-a-friend wife hugged me for the first time, I somehow knew she was the one, and I promptly ran out of the house. I had email waiting for me when I got home, with my then-friend apologizing for whatever she had done. I wrote back and told her I needed to break up with someone before seeing her again, and she was OK with that.

It took me 2 weeks to get a date/appointment with my then-girlfriend, to break up. (I didn't want to break up via email or phone) For the first six months dating my now-wife, I got irregular "I love you" and "I hate you" emails from my ex-gf. I saw that to be a human thing, rather than a black woman thing, or even just a woman thing. I was respectful in my response, and she got over it.

If I should live through losing my wife, I would likely try dating again. I don't see skin color being something that will slow me down at asking a woman out.

Oh, and I do have a very white cousin with a black woman for a wife. They've been married just as long as we have, and have several kids, and appear to be just as happy as we are.

It is my hope that, over the next few years, enough inter-breeding will happen that the lines between "white" and "minority" will get sufficiently blurred that there just wont be the numbers of "white" people for them to be a majority anymore.

I had been away from Lit on self-imposed exile, but I'm making my return and slowly expanding my circle of interest. I have always appreciated women of all ages, races, and body types, but some of the warmest, friendliest, and most approachable women I have ever met online have been women of color.

Perhaps I didn't communicate clearly.

Some of warmest and friendliest women I have met anywhere have been Black women. But since I was discussing my recent return to Lit, I was particularly talking about my online interactions -- particularly those here on this site. (There are a couple of women on this very thread with whom I have talked, and though I have never met them online, they have been very kind and friendly.)

Some of my fondest memories are actually from my years of living in Africa - north as well as sub-Saharan. Gorgeous, sensual, and open minded enough to be curious about the white guy wandering about, lost yonder! :cool:

What caused you to return The_Quiet_Man?
Hope your time here has been well spent.

I constantly find myself departing and returning to Lit, but I believe if I make it past November staying on Lit, this will be my longest stay. It's a bit of a love/hate relationship I have for the encounters I have on this site.

Ive had women of color, Ive never been the least bit prejudice. Ive even had a slave who happened to be an African american. I didnt seek her out for the color of her skin. It didnt mean that I wasnt doubly sure that a M/s dynamic was truly what she sought... it was.. she was an amazing woman. Id be open to it again with a submissive woman. Oh and Im white. Completely of European stock.

Your staying and popping up warms some of our hearts! I fully relate to the fading in and out though, but hope you find enough welcoming thoughts to stay and linger awhile longer.

Isn't sex based on race a form of racism? Why should race be a factor one way or the other?
