US troops pelted with rotten fruit, rotten vegetables, and stones as they leave Syria

Syrian residents pelt retreating US troops with food and insults

The remnants of the US presence in the north-east of the country
made an ignominious departure on Monday, driving through towns
that had welcomed them for the past four years.

21 Oct 2019

The troops are leaving Syria for Iraq’s Kurdistan region

Donald Trump made clear on Monday that those US forces remaining
in eastern Syria would be there to protect the oil rather than the people.

“So we have a small group there, and we secured the oil. Other than that,
there’s no reason for it, in our opinion,” the president told reporters.
“Where’s the agreement that said we have to say in the Middle East
for the rest of humanity, for the rest of civilization to protect the Kurds?
We never said that.”

The US defence secretary, Mark Esper, confirmed that the US was
keeping troops “in north-east Syria that are located next to the oil
fields”.

Turkey had declared a ceasefire that is set to expire on Tuesday night.

“With these events today, we are just hopelessly exposed,” said a senior
US diplomat, who declined to be named, adding that the US move was
“a capitulation”.

We will never forget that."

“Stones and rotten fruit for the withdrawing US force.
What a farce this has been,” tweeted ABC Middle East
correspondent Adam Harvey on Monday.

Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper-anto, according to Presiderp Trumpy

U.S. Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper announced that the roughly
1,000 U.S. troops in Syria would be shifted to western Iraq.

U.S. troops serving in Syria are “livid” about a cease-fire agreement
touted by Trump, according to a senior official who spoke to
The Washington Post on the condition of anonymity.

Normally the yanks piss people off when they invade other countries. This time your pissing them off by leaving. Oh well, just another group of jihadi Moslems who will be gunning for Americans.

Time for Ivanka to tell Daddy that this is no way to win (or try to buy) the Nobel Peace Prize. (I'm sure Obama would be happy to show Donald his, though.)

Trump Administration's ceaseless ploys used to deliberately goad Americans

October 22, 2019

Not sure which Trump loyalist operative constructed this skit
now playing out in the news and the media, but it is filling the
job of distracting the public from the film clips of American
soldiers suffering the shame, humiliation, and dishonor, as
they desert the Kurdish people, and Syria. Their degradation
is squarely in the hands of Trump.

Today, Trump uses a word to goad Americans.

Trump's Sycophants mimic their tyrant-

“This is a lynching in every sense."
This is un-American,” Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.)
told reporters at the Capitol, calling the impeachment process
“a sham” and a “joke.”

voilà!

Reaction to the goad and pushback-

“I apologize for the role I played in helping to put this horrible
human being in the White House.”

Michael Steele, who is black and the former chairman of the
Republican National Committee, tweeted a black and white
image of an African American man hanging from a tree.

“This is a lynching,” Steele tweeted to Trump and to Graham.
“Trump this is not happening to you and it’s pathetic that you
act like you’re such a victim; but it did happen to 147 black
people in your state, Lindsey. ‘A lynching in every sense?’
You should know better.”

Putin ordered Trump to make Americans as miserable as Russians.
Trump has steadily chewed away at the morale of our soldiers.
The hearts and pride of our family farmers are desolated.
Minorities fight dejection when Trump attempts to erode their spirit,
Families have burdens heaped on their backs, because of Trump.
Trump has no pity, no concern, and no conscience.

Soviet Premier Nikita Kruschev's 1956 threat- "We will bury you."

(bodysong comment- I never dreamed that I would see the day, when
Americans would cheer, and help the Russian's stooge to bury Democracy,
and an American would lead the cheer of destruction and harm. Under
President Obama, the world was recovering from abuse, and hearts
were rising with hope that the world could become a better place.

We are the bad guys no matter what....haters gonna hate, all the more reason to GTFO.

Obama??? OH you mean President Drone Strike.....yea.

Obama gets a NPP for blowing up poor brown people, Trump is criticized for leaving them to their own affairs.

LOL that show just how fucked up the perspective of the leftist is.

Obama??? OH you mean President Drone Strike.....yea.

So which is it? Either you wanted Obama to go after terrorists or you didn't. If he did, you whined he was using drones. If he didn't you would have called him weak.

And btw, the con artist has used more drone strikes than Obama did and has killed more civilians as a result than Obama did.

Start whining.

Obama gets a NPP for blowing up poor brown people, Trump is criticized for leaving them to their own affairs.

Like the con artist is sending U.S. troops to the terrorist producing countries of Saudi Arabia and Syria to protect oil fields rather than letting them to their own affairs, right?

LOL that show just how fucked up the perspective of the leftist is.

Just goes to show how fucked up and hypocritical the perspective of you are.

We could bring them right back and put them on Trump's bodyguard detail. :D

Holy fucking ascription batman!!!

I voted for Obama explicitly for his promise that he'd bring the troops home.

It was a semi-truth of course.

I supported him in most cases and trolled the shit out of the "OBAMA IS HITLER!!" teahaddist mercilessly.

Everything else up there was a total fucking fabrication.

Like the con artist is sending U.S. troops to the terrorist producing countries of Saudi Arabia and Syria to protect oil fields rather than letting them to their own affairs, right?

The oil fields are our affairs. Protecting your radical left wing terrorist buddies is not.

Just goes to show how fucked up and hypocritical the perspective of you are.

Nothing hypocritical about my perspective.....your WILD ascription not withstanding of course.

Guess what. Iraq has no said no way Jose. Get those troops out of here. They are not allowed to stay in our country despite the con artist lying to the contrary.

Iraq: U.S. troops crossing border from Syria don't have approval to stay

U.S. forces that crossed into Iraq as part of a withdrawal from Syria
do not have permission to stay and can only be there in transit, the
Iraqi military said on Tuesday.

Or what?

What the fuck is the Iraqi military gonna do??

LOL They aren't going to do shit except be mad and Trump knows it.

#11 above.
Say what you may, put on the brave, "we're American, we don't give a fuck" face, But...
The symbolism of American troops departing under a pelting with rotten fruit speaks volumes to the world. Shaming. Even if you don't (want to) see it.

So now you're the imperial war monger.

Good to know.

Because I'm not delusional enough to think a war torn shit hole that isn't even capable of policing itself has enough juice to tell the USA what to do I'm advocating imperialism and war??

LMFAO.....says the guy actively supporting eternal war in the ME for no reason whatsoever.

You're totally fucking insane. 100% drunk on "Orange man bad!!" 151 proof Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The liberal/progressive anti-war leftists here in the United States used to treat U.S. troops returning from serving their country in Vietnam like sh*t, spitting at them and calling them "babykillers!" The left has LONG history of despising the American military! Look at how the left supports spoiled wealthy anti-American athletes like Colin Kaepernick, labelling him a "patriot" because he kneels down during our national anthem! Kaeperick, Megan Rapinoe, Jane Fonda, Jussie Smollett, & LeBron James are who the left calls "patriots" in America today!

KeithD writes: "We could bring them right back and put them on Trump's bodyguard detail."

Keith makes a good point. The U.S. military LOVES this president because he thinks of them first! The U.S. has no reason to involve itself in Syria's civil war. And like it or not, Turkey is our NATO ally. Yes, the Kurdish people have fought alongside us to crush ISIS, but there is NO nation of Kuristan. The Kurdish people are a part of Syria, Iraq, Iran, & even Turkey itself. We can't protect all of them in all four those four nations. They really need to protect themselves!

magicalmoments writes: "I think you mean Deranged Trump Syndrome."

No, it's called "Trump Derangement Syndrome," and it's been plaguing Democrats since 2016.

Send your sons and daughters or go yourself

The Kurds would welcome you help. IF you want to defend the Kurds there is nothing stopping you. Send YOUR sons send YOUR daughters and by all means go defend the Kurds yourself. It is amazing to see the zeal of these soy boys that want to send someone else's kids to go to help the Kurds. If it is that big of a deal just do it yourself.

Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait illegally, in violation of international law.
It was a brutal occupation of Kuwait. No one is denying any of that.
But what Bush Sr. told the country was that this came without any warning,
without any provocation, when in actual fact his own ambassador at that time
in Iraq, the U.S. ambassador, April Glaspie, had told Saddam, just weeks
before the invasion, that we in America have no opinion on your border
dispute with Kuwait. It was interpreted as a green light. Historians—many
historians have suggested that was a green light to Saddam from the Bush
administration to invade. After Saddam invaded, we were also told by Bush Sr.
that America had to go in to protect Saudi Arabia, because that was coming next.
Saddam was about to invade Saudi, as well. There were Iraqi troops massing on
the border. In fact, one reporter—I think her name is Jean Heller, if I remember
correctly—went and bought some private commercial satellite data and found
there were no Iraqi troops massing on the border to invade Saudi Arabia.
It was another lie, like his son told in the run-up to the 2003 invasion.
So, it was a war built on half-truths, evasions, lies. No one is denying S
addam invaded. But what George Bush told the nation was not the full truth.

Legendary Kurdish leader Mustafa Barzani dies in Washington D.C.
On his deathbed, he laments once having trusted the U.S.
(See interview with Akins who knew Barzani well and was
with him in his final days.)

1990 After Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, US officials begin to meet
with Iraqi opposition figures for the first time in 15 years.

1991 March

After Iraq's defeat in Kuwait, Shias in Southern Iraq launch a popular
uprising against the Baghdad regime. Following the Shias' lead, the Kurds
in the North also revolt. Within two weeks, 15 of Iraq's 18 provinces are
free of government control. However, once it is clear that the U.S. will
not support the rebellion, Saddam's forces crush the revolt throughout
Iraq. Hundreds of thousands of Kurds flee into the mountains. In response
to humanitarian pleas, U.S. troops move into Northern Iraq in
"Operation Provide Comfort".

No-fly zones are established over Kurdistan.

Summer 1999

U.S. government refuses to give Kurdish leaders security guarantees that
would enable them to hold a general meeting of the Iraqi opposition inside
Kurdistan.

Instead, the meeting is held in New York City in October, 1999.

Those people around the world who despise the United States LIKED Barack Obama, as President Obama had dedicated himself to manage America's decline. And yes, they deeply dislike our President Trump as the America-haters have NO desire to see America being "made great again" by anybody!

bodysong writes: "Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait illegally, in violation of international law."

That is all true. And the United Nations was on the side of the U.S. under President George H.W. Bush to expel Saddam Hussein's military from that country in 1990-91! But when President Bush asked the U.S. Senate for authorization to use our military in that exact capacity, 48 of the 58 Democrats in that body OPPOSED giving him that necessary authorization! The Democratic Party's senators voted overwhelmingly NOT to disturb Saddam's hold on Kuwait with military force!

The Kurds remain in control of northern Iraq, despite NOT having their own nation. Neither Syria, Iran, or Turkey wants a Kurdish national state to exist, as they ALL have sizeable Kurdish populations within their borders who might wish to join an existing Kurdish state. Iraq doesn't particularly want that, either, but as the U.S. military has already saved Iraq's butt from an ISIS take-over, the Iraqi military isn't about to go against our wishes in regards to Kurdish autonomy.

Men should put their life on the line for...

Men and women should be asked by the government to put their life on the line to provide free defense for people that are so unappreciative of what protection they have already been given that they start throwing shit at them? I wonder how many of the liberals have read much history of the middle east. It is worth noting that the people in that part of the world have been killing each other like savages for 1000s of years. Their religious ideas include revenge and killing people that disagree with their beliefs. Contributing to their waring ways is not going to change their waring ways. The only reason that the USA is over there in the first place is because of the oil. Now that Trump has unshackled energy production in this country there is no political reason to shed blood to secure the oil. And there is never a morally acceptable reason to shed blood over oil in the first place. But if you are one of the ones that wants to keep pumping blood and treasure into the middle east don't worry... they will keep killing each other so there will be more opportunities to send young men and women over there if it makes you happy.

On Saturday, there were several troop movements in Syria as the various
players adjusted to the US decision to withdraw troops from the north-east.

A US convoy of more than a dozen vehicles was spotted driving south of
the north-eastern city of Qamishli, likely heading to the oil-rich
Deir el-Zour area where there are oil fields, or possibly to another
base nearby.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a war monitor also reported
the convoy, saying it arrived earlier from Iraq.

A large convoy of Syrian government troops was also spotted heading
toward the M4 highway. The Syrian state news agency Sana said troops
had entered the region of Ras al-Ayn, deploying to eight villages along
the highway and up near the Syrian-Turkish border.

The Observatory called Saturday’s deployment of Syrian forces the
largest in the area in nearly seven years.

A separate deal between Turkey and Russia accelerated Syrian
government deployment as joint Russian-Syrian patrols are part
of the new border arrangements.

Turkey is taking advantage of Syria's ongoing civil war to seize portions of northern Syria where the Kurds currently reside, to avoid their setting-up a separate Kurdish autonomous state such as already exists in Iraq. Turkey has it's own sizeable Kurdish minority to worry about, and seeing Kurdish people governing themselves in a neighboring nation is NOT something the Turks want to see happening.

Russia has no interest in the Kurds, but the Russians DO have an alliance of sorts with both Iran and Iran's ally: the dictatorial regime of Syria's Bashar al-Assad. The Russians are also anxious to prevent Turkey from seizing anymore Syrian territory at the expense of Assad's government, but the Russians are NOT about to attack Turkey because of that nation's membership in the NATO alliance (which includes western Europe & the United States!)

The U.S. was never in Syria to set-up a Kurdish state, but instead to fight ISIS forces in Syria (as we were already doing in Iraq) - and in destroying ISIS we were on the same page as the Syrian government, the Russians, and even Iran! Iranian-backed terror groups (like Hamas & Hezbollah) are Shi'ite Muslims, while ISIS is Sunni Muslims. BOTH of those two Islamic sects hate one another just as much as they hate those of us who AREN'T Muslims!

Just speaking as a person who has been in combat zones, it is remarkable that so many in the media are eager to send others to help the Kurds -- while, of course, their own adipose posteriors remain parked in safe locations.
