‘You are leaving us to be slaughtered’: Kurdish general accuses Trump of betrayal — and threatens to ally with Russia

On CNN Saturday, journalist Barbara Starr reported that the head of the Syrian Democratic Forces is accusing the United States of abandoning them — and is threatening to leave the alliance with the U.S. for Russia.

“On Thursday, there was a meeting between the military leader of the Syrian Democratic forces and a top state Department official,” said Starr. “I just want to read you direct quotes. They are stunning, from an internal administration document that summarized the meeting.”

“So first the general says to the State Department official, you have given up on us. You are leaving us to be slaughtered,” said Starr. “You have nothing for us. You are not willing to protect the people, but you do not want another force to come and protect us. You have sold us. This is immoral. The general goes on, he is furious. He says, and I quote further, I need to know if you are capable of protecting my people, of stopping these bombs falling on us or not. I need to know because if you are not, I need to make a deal with Russia and the regime now and invite their planes to protect this region.”

Also US Troops came under fire from Turkish Artillery, so much for NATO Allies!

Trump is privately questioning Giuliani’s competence as he faces criminal investigation: report

On Saturday, CNN reporter Sarah Westwood revealed that President Donald Trump is losing confidence in his attorney Rudy Giuliani, after a series of high-profile embarrassments on cable television and a federal criminal investigation into his efforts to help Trump pressure Ukraine into digging up dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden.

“Sources tell CNN that privately Trump is doubting Giuliani’s ability to keep representing him,” said Westwood. “They say that while Giuliani will continue to be his lawyer, he will not work on any issues that touch Ukraine.”

Publicly, Trump continues to express confidence in Giuliani, defending him in a tweet as a “crime buster” and a “wonderful lawyer.” But he also told reporters that he is not sure Giuliani is even still his attorney.

"That guy? I hardly know him!"

Shep Smith out at Fox News — two days after Bill Barr’s meeting with Rupert Murdoch

Shepard Smith, one of the few voices at Fox News who has been willing to be critical of President Donald Trump, is stepping down from the network after 23 years.

“This is my last newscast here,” Smith said at the end of his program on Friday.

Jay Wallace, President & Executive Editor of Fox News Media said in a statement, “Shep is one of the premier newscasters of his generation and his extraordinary body of work is among the finest journalism in the industry.”

Smith’s departure comes less than two days after Attorney General Bill Barr held a mysterious meeting with News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch. There is no evidence linking Barr’s Murdoch meeting to Smith’s sudden departure, although critics of the White House have been raising questions about why the attorney general was meeting with a media mogul at a time when Trump has been openly critical of the network.

'More time with my family." I think CNN or MSNBC may have a new Trump Thumper!:D

Trump’s Ukraine lies are falling apart because diplomats want no part of taking the blame for him

President Donald Trump has managed to escape real accountability for wrongdoing in large part because he has surrounded himself with a circle of loyalists sympathetic to his goals.

But as David Graham wrote for The Atlantic, that strategy is failing him in the Ukraine scandal — because his actions are so outrageous that career diplomats and other civil servants are no longer willing to stay silent.

“As the week closes, however, something strange has happened. The White House hasn’t changed its stance, but witnesses employed by the executive branch are coming to testify to House committees anyway. On Friday, Marie Yovanovitch, the former ambassador to Ukraine who was recalled earlier this year, is giving a transcribed interview behind closed doors over State Department objections. Also on Friday, Gordon Sondland, Trump’s ambassador to the European Union, signaled he would testify as well.”

Even if you share his DNA, you can not count on his unwavering support! Right, Tiffany?

Why Is Pat Robertson Dropkicking Trump Into Hell Today, WAIT WHAT?

A lot of people right now are trying to figure out what kind of bribe/extortion Donald Trump took from the president of Turkey, or what the president of Turkey has on Trump to make him agree that if Turkey would like to genocide America's allies the Kurds, Trump ain't about to stop 'em. If Trump was looking for something to make sure that support for his impeachment kicked into high gear, and FAST, he sure did pick it. He's got the support of approximately two (2) Republican members of Congress, US special forces in Syria are telling Fox News journalists that this is the first time in their career that they've been "ashamed," and ...

Et tu, Pat Robertson?

ROBERTSON: Ladies and gentlemen, I want to say right now: I am absolutely appalled that the United States is going to betray those democratic forces in northern Syria, that we're possibly going to allow the Turkish to come in against the Kurds. Erdoğan is a THUG. He has taken control of his country as a dictator. He is a strong[man] leader and, you say he's an ally of America, is nonsense, he's in it for himself.

And the president who allowed Khashoggi to be cut in pieces without any repercussions whatsoever ...

... is now allowing the Christians and the Kurds to be massacred by the Turks. And I believe, and I want to say this with great solemnity, the president of the United States is in danger of losing the mandate of Heaven if he permits this to happen.

Spoiler, Pat, he's permitting this to happen.

Once in a while, Pat Robertson is right about a thing, and he's not the only one this time.

Franklin Graham
Mike Huckabee

What is going ON here? Well, it's pretty simple, actually. White conservative evangelicals might not particularly care about women or black people or Central American refugees or Muslims or gun violence or income inequality or people dying from lack of healthcare or anything else like that, but they give multiple fucks about Syrian Christians. And where do Syrian Christians live? In the line of Turkey's fire that Donald Trump just opened up for them.

Does this sound like the Religious Right is going to come out FOR Trumpikins next year?:D

‘Ludicrous buffoon’ Trump roasted for boasting farmers ruined by his tariffs are about to ‘hit pay dirt’

President Donald Trump launched a tweetstorm on Saturday morning congratulating himself for a trade agreement with China that has not been agreed upon and has yet to be signed — if it happens at all based upon recent history.

According to the president, ” The deal I just made with China is, by far, the greatest and biggest deal ever made for our Great Patriot Farmers in the history of our Country. In fact, there is a question as to whether or not this much product can be produced? Our farmers will figure it out. Thank you China!”

Trumpski takes a Victory Lap before getting the papers signed!

Trump’s legal appeal to keep his finances hidden could be heard by Merrick Garland

:D
President Donald Trump was dealt a stinging blow when the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 he cannot block Congress from subpoenaing his financial records, with the lone dissenter being a judge he appointed.

The president may well appeal that decision, and one way to do that would be to request an “en banc” rehearing where the entire D.C. Circuit reviews the case. But as MSNBC’s Kendis Gibson and former prosecutor Glenn Kirschner discussed on Saturday, one of the judges who would then hear the case is a familiar name: Merrick Garland, the Supreme Court nominee who was denied a hearing by Senate Republicans so Trump could fill it with an extreme-right replacement.

Yep, this could come back to bite him!:D:D:D:D:D

‘We’re at a crisis level’: State Department reeling as career diplomats are fleeing having to work for Pompeo

On Saturday’s edition of MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” former Eurasia Deputy Assistance Secretary of Defense Evelyn Farkas remarked one of the biggest consequences of President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo weaponizing the State Department for political purposes.

“So the real big picture issue is there are seasoned diplomats leaving the State Department,” Farkas told anchor Joy Reid. “This has been happening for a while and now we’re at a crisis level. If you lose experience, it’s hard to put it all back together again and then you have war and no diplomacy. This is not the way to run the State Department or the U.S. government.”

State Dept, run by right wing Rookies! OMFG!

Republicans must lie to survive

The Republican Party has a problem. A big problem. As the party of the wealthy and big business, how in the world can it convince the working class to vote for its candidates?

This is no small matter. It is not some little glitch. Rather, it is a fundamental core issue that lies at the heart of the Republican Party. It requires a grand strategy at the highest level. The problem is simple. The GOP exists to serve the interests of the wealthy and big business that comprise the richest 1%. No party, however, can ever win an election with only 1% of the vote. So to win elections, the GOP must necessarily reach beyond its own wealthy core and attempt to convince a large segment of working people in the 99% to vote for Republicans.

The Republican Party is left with only one option. It cannot possibly be honest about its true intentions and actual policies. The working class would never vote for them. Instead, the only option is to lie.

The Republican Party must lie. It has no choice. It must conceal its true inner core. This is a matter of life or death for the party. The survival of the Republican Party itself depends upon lying. It cannot exist without creating a false impression about its true purpose.

This forum is a prime example. Distraction, deflection, and dumb fuckery!:D

Donald Trump Isn’t Julius Caesar. He’s Republic-Killer Tiberius Gracchus.

What made him so dangerous was his determined incitement of the worst and most violent tendencies of his populist mob.

As Americans try to find familiarity in strange times, people have grasped at a sea of comparisons to try and fully capture Trump’s innate Trumpiness. Our most analogized president has been compared to Hitler and Stalin, Jesus, a chess grandmaster, and Julius Caesar. The Daily Beast’s Clive Irving likened Trump to an early-stage Mussolini. Frank Palmieri at AlterNet countered: Trump is no Mussolini, he’s Charles II of England.

But we’ve seen this before, over 2,000 years ago, when another insurgent faux-populist movement whipped disaffected citizens into an anti-establishment frenzy.

The echoes of his worldview can be heard nearly a century before Caesar’s rise, when Tiberius Gracchus convinced Roman citizens to hollow out their governing institutions. By the time Rome’s senators realized the full extent of their self-immolation, the Gracchi—and the Republic—were dead.

"Tiberius Trump" has a certain ring to it.:)

Bill Barr slammed for his ‘incredibly disturbing’ — and false — attack on secularism

During a speech at Notre Dame’s law school this Friday, US Attorney General William Barr disparaged the rising tide of secularism in America, saying that a lack of religion is tied to societal ills like violence and drug abuse.

“Basically every measure of this social pathology continues to gain ground,” Barr said, adding that problems in society are the result of “moral upheaval.”

“It is curious that you blame violence on the rise of secularism in the United States,” Fish wrote. “To the contrary, as Attorney General, you no doubt know that according to data published by the FBI, the rate of violent crime in the United States has fallen by 49% since 1993. The timeline of this fall in violent crime correlates to the explosive growth of secularism in the United States.”

What an asshole!

Wonkette said it better!

Bill Barr Will Defend Religious Bigots From Heathens Who Want To Mind Their Own Business

Bill Barr, attorney general and Donald Trump's consigliere, spoke to law students at Notre Dame Friday. He did not discuss actual law or even list his top 10 episodes of "Law & Order." Instead, he yelled at clouds about "religious freedom," which Christian zealots define as their Zuul-given right to impose their bigoted beliefs on everyone else.

Barr said that in the 20th Century, America defeated the forces of fascism and communism, but apparently America's true enemy in this century are people who don't handle snakes.

BARR: Modern secularists dismiss this idea of morality as sort of otherworldly superstition imposed by killjoy clergy. But, in fact, Judeo-Christian standards are the ultimate utilitarian rules for human conduct.

Jesus Christ, what an awful pair of sentences! Barr is preaching Christian supremacy, which is not "religious freedom" because there are other religions in the world. Some are even on Google. As a baby-eating secularist myself, I don't "dismiss the idea of morality." I just believe that morality can exist without the threat of eternal damnation or the ritualistic hiding of eggs every spring.

com

BARR: Among the militant secularists are many so-called progressives, but where is the progress? We are told we are living in a post-Christian era, but what has replaced the Judeo-Christian moral system?

Conservatives exist in this alternate reality where Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton gave speeches where they boasted that "God is dead!" and cackled diabolically before declaring the start of a soulless "post-Christian era." Here on earth, Obama and Clinton were both advocates of legitimate religious freedom.

"Militant secularists" aren't bombing churches, synagogues, and other houses of worship. That was alleged white supremacists who probably believed their victims worshipped a lesser God. Religion's true enemy is other religious people. Secularists just want the Bible-dependent to leave us alone.

Trump Fuckery Confirmed!

Intel Democrat says Trump’s Russia adviser’s testimony was ‘incredibly helpful’ for impeachment

On Monday’s edition of CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) told anchor Wolf Blitzer that President Donald Trump’s former Russia adviser Fiona Hill’s testimony was “incredibly helpful” for the impeachment investigation.

“You were in the room for Fiona Hill’s closed-door deposition today,” said Blitzer. “How helpful do you believe her testimony to your investigation will be?”

“Incredibly helpful, Wolf,” said Swalwell, who serves on the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees. “Also helpful that she showed up, and, like some others, has chosen to defy orders from the president and the State Department to not show up. And when witnesses actually just show up, it advances our investigation.”

‘He’s cooked’: Sam Donaldson warns Trump the Senate may vote to convict him after impeachment trial

Veteran newsman Sam Donaldson on Monday evening told CNN viewers not to assume that Senate Republicans would refuse to remove President Donald Trump from office during an impeachment vote.

“Breaking news,” CNN Don Lemon alerted. “A CNN source saying that the effort to pressure Ukraine for political help alarmed John Bolton so much that the told an aide to alert White House lawyers that Giuliani was a hand grenade who will blow everyone up. And a source familiar with Fiona Hill’s testimony says the former Russia adviser told lawmakers she was she saw wrongdoing in the Ukraine policy and reported it.”

Call/write your Senator and tell her/him that they will not get re-elected if they support Trump the traitor. Then riot in the street until they do convict his fat ass!:)

Mick Mulvaney implicated by Trump official who testified before Congress on Monday: report

Acting White House chief of staff MicK Mulvaney was implicated by a former top National Security Council official during nine-hours of congressional testimony, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

The newspaper reported, “In her testimony, she detailed a July 10 meeting she attended with senior Ukrainian officials, then-National Security Adviser John Bolton, and other U.S. officials in which the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, raised the issue of the investigations, the people said.”

“Sondland also appeared to be coordinating his efforts with acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, Ms. Hill testified, the people said. The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment,” The Journal noted.

Minions are being caught and how soon before the Trumpster is fired?:)

Pence, Pompeo, Barr, Mulvaney may be subpoenaed by House Dems – and might also be impeached: Ex-GOP Rep.

:)

Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Attorney General Bill Barr, and Trump White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney all may be subpoenaed by House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, says ex-Republican Congressman David Jolly.

“This has been methodical and is building up, I think, to subpoenaing Mike Pompeo, possibly the Vice President of the United States, Mick Mulvaney, and Bill Barr, because this touches them,” Jolly said Tuesday morning on MSNBC.

“And so all questions center on who knew what, when,” he added, speaking about Trump’s Ukraine extortion scandal, “who was in the room when these conversations took place.”

Jolly did not stop there with his analysis.

I love the smell of flaming minions in the morning!:D:D:D:D

Paranoid Trump suspects John Bolton is trying to destroy his presidency with media leaks

President Donald Trump suspects that former national security adviser John Bolton is out to get him.

Bolton left the White House last month, and he and the president’s relationship had soured so badly they argued over whether he quit or was fired, and Trump now suspects the hawkish career bureaucrat is behind a flood of leaks against him, reported The Daily Beast.

Giuliani fires back at Bolton after leaked deposition roils the White House

Bolton said he didn’t want to be part of the “drug deal” White House Chief-of-Staff Mick Mulvany and E.U. Ambassador Gordon Sondland were cooking up in Ukraine. He also referred to Giuliani as “a hand grenade who’s going to blow everybody up.” The reports emerged from a leaked deposition by Fiona Hill, the president’s former advisor for Russian and Eurasian affairs.

“I am disappointed in John,” Giuliani said in a statement to Fox News. “I’m not sure he realizes I received all this evidence as part of my representation of the president. It was all part of the evidence, and suppression of evidence, involving Ukrainian collusion and the origin of some of the false information against the president.”

Trying to explain to Trump why betrayal is bad is like ‘trying to explain color to a blind person’: conservative writer

President Trump’s betrayal of the Kurds in northeast Syria has some never-before-seen cracks showing in his immovable support base, but according to Peter Wehner of The Atlantic, betrayal is nothing new for Trump, and it should surprise “exactly no one.”

“Betrayal is a leitmotif for this president’s entire life,” Wehner writes.

‘Deep into stupid’: Morning Joe gleefully trashes Lindsey Graham after Fiona Hill destroys his Trump excuses

“I’m just going to be fascinated over the next couple weeks to see how deep into stupid some of Trump’s radio allies want to wade,” Scarborough said with a smirk before continuing, “How deep into stupid some of his cable news friends want to wade. How some of deep into stupid his bloggers want to wade. because you have every one of his theories going up in smoke.”

Railroaded into a circus by a nincompoop.

LONDON (Reuters) - Donald Trump’s national security adviser heaped pain and grief on the parents of a British teenager killed in a car crash by trying to hold a meeting at the White House between them and a U.S. diplomat’s wife who was involved, the parents’ lawyer said.

Charlotte Charles and Tim Dunn were invited to a surprise meeting with the U.S. president at his office on Wednesday where they were further shocked to learn that Anne Sacoolas, the American woman involved in the fatal crash, was in the building.

Mark Stephens, the lawyer for Charles and Dunn, said national security adviser Robert O’Brien had the idea of overseeing a coming together of the families before they would then hug in front of an assembled media.

Dunn’s parents said Trump had been responsive at their meeting but the planned encounter with Sacoolas had come as a bombshell.

“He said he was sorry about Harry and then he sprung the surprise that Mrs Sacoolas was in another room in the building and whether we want to meet her there and then,” Tim Dunn said.

“We said no because as we’ve been saying from the start we want to meet Mrs Sacoolas but we want to do it in the UK so the police can interview her. We didn’t want to be sort of railroaded, not into a circus as such, but a meeting we weren’t prepared for.”

“We have said for a long time the family needs to meet, they need to meet in private, away from the media and not curated by politicians, spies or indeed lawyers,” he said.

“Most sensible folk and not a nincompoop in a hurry would understand that.”
