to continue to drag this into the 2020 election cycle.

But President Trump will be impeached.

Yes, that is the same conclusion reached by the Democrats. They are taking political risks, as you do with any major decision like this, but the risks are even greater if they just sit on their hands.

It is not OK to do what Trump has done, and there is no way the Republicans would have allowed a Democratic president to do the same thing. This behavior started with Trump openly entreating Russia during an election to "Find the missing emails", progressed to him saying immediately after the Mueller Report that he would still work with foreign governments to dig up dirt on his political opponents, and culminated with the recent arm-twisting of Ukraine via his personal attorney.
