Pop! Goes the weasel

Already there are rumours that as many as 30 Republican senators would vote to convict if it were anonymous. Since it isn't, we'll just have to wait for at least a couple of them to grow a spine. But if they do (admittedly a big if), Trump is toast.

Well, just a bit ago, the votes to impeach in the house reached the "can do" level.

Entertaining...and that's the most that can be said about the Democrats recent hysteria.

1. Transcript has been released - Nothingburger.
2. Whistleblower....is a joke.

The same people who pushed the Russia Hoax are pushing this one. Same ending as Mueller...but without the Dementia.

You forgot "third-rate burglary".

House Intel member @RepMikeQuigley just read the full whistleblower
complaint. He told @WolfBlitzer “it’s extraordinarily detailed” and
“very, very well done.” It is still classified, so Quigley spoke generally,
calling it “deeply disturbing” and a “blueprint” for Congress

— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) September 25, 2019

Democratic @RepSwalwell says the whistleblower complaint is a
“five-alarm concern.” He adds, “It’s actually shocking that so many
people saw this conduct and didn’t come forward.”

Well, just a bit ago, the votes to impeach in the house reached the "can do" level.

Then, after Ms. Pelosi signs on to impeachment....

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance.

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll, Rasmussen Reports (Sep. 25, 2019).

Good Gracious Gravy!

A certain someone just spoke the infamous line-
(Although it was a vulgar, low, nasty version.)

"Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?”

(Does that count as witness tampering ?)

The President’s suggestion that those involved in the
whisteblower complaint should be dealt with as
"we used to do" for "spies and treason" is a
reprehensible invitation to violence against
witnesses in our investigation.

All Americans must denounce such witness intimidation.

(Joe) Maguire said he would allow the whistleblower to testify before
Congress with full legal protections against retaliation once certain
details of the appearance were straightened out.

More-

One thing Maguire was firm on was reiterating that the still-anonymous
whistleblower was judged to be “credible” by the intelligence community’s
inspector general and that he deserved the full protection and security
afforded to him by the law. “That individual works for me, therefore
it is my job to make sure I support and defend that person. … I think
the whistleblower did the right thing,” said Maguire.

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/09/trump-whistleblower-spy-treason-execution.html

Great protecting Maguire was doing by taking the whistleblower charge to the one being charged rather than just doing what the law clearly said to do with it. Maguire needs to take a hard fall for his criminal act. No excuse.

Admit it you're pissed because the NYT outed the WB as a Company Man. Not that I disagree with your sentiments. :)

WIth Bill Barr pushing a "Dark State Conspiracy" for distraction from the impeachment and Ukrain-Gate fiasco and comvince the rubes that it's all a "Plot against Hair Furor!"

Now, let's see where this is all heading...

Meanwhile...

Democrats wrote to the Ukrainian government in May 2018 urging it to continue investigations into President Donald Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia in the 2016 presidential campaign — collusion later found not to exist.

The demand, which came from U.S. Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Dick Durbin (D-IL), and Patrick Leahy (D-VT), resurfaced Wednesday in an opinion piece written by conservative Marc Thiessen in the Washington Post.

Ironically, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) declared Tuesday that the mere possibility that President Trump had asked Ukraine to continue an investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden — even without a quid pro quo — was enough to trigger an impeachment inquiry. (Biden boasted in 2018 that he had forced Ukraine to remove its prosecutor by threatening to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid; he did not tell his audience at the Council on Foreign Relations that the prosecutor was looking into a firm on whose board his son, Hunter Biden, was serving.)

K. Nelson, Turns Out Dems Wrote to Ukraine Last Year, Demanding They Investigate Trump, Conservative Opinion (Sep 25, 2019), accord J. Moseley, Joe Biden Confesses to Bribery, C-Span (Sep. 21, 2019).

Atkinson said it was of urgent concern and appears credible. Period.

“Mr. Atkinson also found reason to believe that the whistle-blower may not support the re-election of Mr. Trump and made clear that the complainant was not in a position to directly listen to the call or see the memo that reconstructed it before it was made public, according to the Justice Department memo, which referred only to a single phone call between Mr. Trump and an unnamed foreign leader,” it said.

This means, if correct, that the Democrats are basing impeachment of The President of the United States on hearsay from someone who wants President Donald Trump to not be reelected.

The White House accidentally sent a list of GOP talking points
to Democratic offices on Capitol Hill, which outlined three
“myths” to point out:

there was no quid pro quo
there was no promise made on the call
Trump referred to Biden “in only one exchange”

Federal campaign finance law prohibits anyone from soliciting
any “thing of value” from a foreign national.

Trump Asked Ukrainian President To Investigate Biden;

DOJ Says No Charges

2019/09/25/

The conversation raised concerns by a whistleblower that
Trump may have broken the law by asking for foreign help
in the presidential campaign. But the Justice Department
concluded that based on the evidence that's available,
prosecutors "did not and could not make out a criminal
campaign finance violation."

Under the law, a "thing of value" under discussion has to be
some way quantifiable, and the Justice Department couldn't
find that here, officials said.

It was worth $400 million dollars of American tax-payer money.

Trump planned on paying nothing from his own stash of cash.
Extortion would buy Trump hours of work and the efforts of Ukrainian
operatives, that would seek out (or invent) proof of Biden's corruption
or Biden's son Hunter's illegal business dealings (of which there were none!)

Until now, Volodymyr Zelensky's image has been carefully curated
through social media and carefully planned appearances. His many
supporters will be hoping that this revealing call was just another act.

Via CNN: White House restricted access to Trump’s calls
with Putin and Saudi crown prince.

And there is also this, from WaPo: Trump says he raised
Hunter Biden allegations with his China go-between

On the outer orbit of this behavior, but still extremely relevant,
is this report from the NYT: N.R.A.’s LaPierre Asks Trump to
'Stop the Games' Over Gun Legislation in Discussion About
Its Support

*Side note: the NRA’s connection to Russia were also in the
news this week. Via CNN: Top NRA officials knew Russians
were using ties to NRA to establish connection with next US
President, report says.

Trump plots next moves with NRA's LaPierre

On the very same day that Senator Ron Wyden issued a 77-page
report concluding that the NRA was a Russian asset in 2016,
Donald Trump ran to Wayne La Pierre for love and support
in his time of tribulation.

President Trump met in the Oval Office on Friday with Wayne
LaPierre, the chief executive of the National Rifle Association,
and discussed prospective gun legislation and whether the N.R.A.
could provide support for the president as he faces impeachment
and a more difficult re-election campaign, according to two people
familiar with the meeting.

It was not clear whether Mr. Trump asked Mr. LaPierre for his
support, or if the idea was pitched by the N.R.A. During the
meeting, Mr. LaPierre asked that the White House “stop the games”
over gun control legislation, people familiar with the meeting said.

bodysong question- Acting (temp) Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire
is Trump's creature. (Sue Gordon should have had her chance, but she
has too much integrity to pretend that Trump cares about the USA.)
What are the chances, that Maguire will tell lies ?

"...in questioning Thursday in the House Intelligence Committee,
acting director of national intelligence Joseph Maguire backed up
the whistleblower’s credibility.
(Maguire said he does not know who the whistleblower is,
but read this exchange between him and Chairman
Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.):

SCHIFF: You don’t believe the whistleblower is a political hack?

MAGUIRE: I believe the whistleblower is operating in good faith
and has followed the law.

A few minutes later:

SCHIFF: Do you have any reason to accuse him or her of disloyalty
to the country or suggest he is beholden to anything else but the country?

MAGUIRE: Absolutely not. I believe the whistleblower followed the
steps every way.

To defend President Trump against the whistleblower allegations,
Republicans in Congress are having to dodge or misstate some key
facts. Here are the most common talking points they are using to
discredit the complaint and why those don’t hold up.

‘Foiled again’: Trump blasted as ‘demented villain from Scooby Doo’ after posting unhinged video

President Donald Trump was livid in a video released Saturday after he returned to the White House after yet another day at one of his golf courses.

Trump angrily shouted that the impeachment inquiry into his solicitation of foreign election interference and cover-up “is the single greatest scam in the history of American politics.”

According to the pool report, the president was wearing a red hat after his motorcade drove past protesters with signs reading, “Resign” and “Jail Trump.”

Desperate Measures Require Despedration

To recap the latest attempt of the Dems to start a serious impeachment procedure against the President it was alleged that during a July telephone call to the President of Ukraine, Pres Trump demanded Ukraine investigate possible wrongdoing by Joe Biden when he was the Vice President; and if not Pres Trump said military aid to the Ukraine would be halted. The quintessential “ quid pro quo” screamed the Dems- definitely an impeachable offence. However, the transcript of the call shows, that although Pres Trump did ask as a favor for the Ukrainian govt to help investigate the possibility of a corrupt action by Joe Biden, it does now show that Pres Trump made any threat to Ukraine if they did not exceed. But the Dems scream but you must read the lines and see the implication. Pres Trump really did mean to cancel the military aid if Ukraine did not play ball.

At the heart of the alleged wrong doing is the allegation that when Joe Biden was Vice President, he threatened the Ukrainian leaders if they did not fire within six hours the prosecutor who was investigating the corruption of a Ukrainian energy company that had Biden’s son on its payroll at a pretty hefty salary. And how do we know this? Why the man himself bragged about his successful quid pro quo demand . See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urTk6O4c0mU
Now to be fair the Dems shout tat the quote is out of context and Biden didn’t mean it as evidenced by his last remark “And son of bitch he did resign.” This mind you as the clip shows his last remark was uttered in a mocking surprise in context with his boast.

So we are left with this startling syllogism to support the prosecution that the President must be impeached, namely:

(A) President Trump meant what he did not say, and

(B) Formed VP Joe Biden did not mean what he did say.

Your summary is crap.

Maybe someday you'll wake up and realize how the con man is playing you (quite successfully so far).
