Whistleblower

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) said Wednesday that a whistleblower complaint concerning a call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky contained "lots that's very troubling," warning his GOP colleagues not to dismiss it.

"Republicans ought not to be rushing to circle the wagons to say there's no there there when there's obviously lots that's very troubling here," Sasse said after reviewing the complaint, according to an NBC News reporter. "The administration ought not be attacking the whistleblower as some talking points suggest they plan to do."

Ukrainians understood Biden probe was condition for Trump-Zelenskiy phone call: Ukrainian adviser

When Ukrainians voted to elect comedian Volodymyr Zelenskiy as their next president in the spring of 2019, the fledgling administration was eager to coordinate a phone call with Kyiv’s most important benefactor -- the United States, according to an adviser to Zelenskiy.

But after weeks of discussions with American officials, Ukrainian officials came to recognize a precondition to any executive correspondence, the adviser said.

"It was clear that [President Donald] Trump will only have communications if they will discuss the Biden case," said Serhiy Leshchenko, an anti-corruption advocate and former member of Ukraine's Parliament, who now acts as an adviser to Zelenskiy. "This issue was raised many times. I know that Ukrainian officials understood."

The Trump administration’s alleged insistence that the two leaders discuss a prospective investigation into Biden, one of the president’s political opponents, casts his July 25 conversation with Zelenskiy in a new light.

Yep, and then there is this from April to place on the timeline.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tr...inton-collusion.amp?__twitter_impression=true

President Trump told Fox News' "Hannity" in a wide-ranging interview Thursday night that Attorney General Bill Barr is handling the "incredible" and "big" new revelations that Ukrainian actors apparently leaked damaging information about then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort to help Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Last month, Ukraine Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko opened a probe into the so-called "black ledger" files that led to Manafort's abrupt departure from the Trump campaign. The investigation commenced after an unearthed audio recording showed that a senior Ukrainian anticorruption official apparently admitted to leaking Manafort's financial information in 2016 -- including his ties to pro-Russian actors in Ukraine -- to benefit Clinton.

Ukrainian law enforcement officials said earlier this month they have a slew of evidence of collusion and wrongdoing by Democrats, and that they have been trying to share this information with U.S. officials in the Justice Department. A Ukrainian court recently ruled that the Manafort leak amounted to illegal interference in the U.S. election.

And now whistleblower's report is "classified"? Give me a break.

Even the Deplorables should be thinking there is something rotten in Denmark.
(not that they will)

Why is that bad news for Dems?

Making it classified certainly gives it added validity, now doesn't it? :D

Just some humor at the expense of the Kantariis of the world who believe, or are pretending to believe, that this is the greatest day of the Trump presidency.

At the expense of? Don’t fool yourself thinking that.

Huh....where did you determine that?
Did you get some insight from the DOMSU?

Shhhh. It's amusing watching them. Don't spoil it.

The whistleblower has tentatively agreed to meet with Congressional committees so long as his attorneys get the appropriate security clearance.

CNN reported Tuesday that the whistleblower's legal counsel "wrote to the Acting Director of National Intelligence to request specific guidance as to the appropriate security practices to permit a meeting, if needed, with the Members of the Intelligence Oversight Committees."
. . .
"We have reaffirmed our client's request for direction by correspondence to Acting Director Maguire, a copy of which is included as an enclosure. Furthermore, we have requested for the Acting Director to process and grant myself, I. Charles McCullough, III, and Mark S. Zaid the appropriate security clearances so that legal counsel may be in attendance at any meetings with our client. I am sure you can understand that it is imperative that a whistleblower, especially one caught up in such a high profile matter involving the President, have experienced legal counsel by their side. Your cooperation in ensuring this occurs would help facilitate a future meeting or testimony," the letter said.

If he were an actual whistleblower (which he is not) he would not "need experienced attorneys by his side" for a classified meeting seeing as how whistleblower statutes would shield him from any criminal charges or civil liability.

No, of course they're not an actual whistleblower. Because you said so, right?

Anyone with a functioning brain cell (which obviously excludes both you and the con artist) has attorneys present in a situation like this. The law is not a perfect shield and there may be some things the whistleblower can't reveal. They're attorneys will let them know when that happens.

It's rather amusing what shit the ruffled Trumpettes will raise here to show how rotten they are. :D
