Would it be appropriate for a sitting US president to ask the Ukraine to help find "dirt" on a political rival?

Why do you want to know? Are you writing a term paper?

Why don't you? Goodness knows if it were Obama you'd be all over it like white on rice.

Or is it just that your party means more to you than your country.

You mean to ask a foreign leader to investigate the possible corruption of an elected US official? To look into dealings surrounding using taxpayers monies to extort a foreign leader?

Why yes, it is appropriate.

You do realize that T~D~S has been redefined, right? "Those that adore Trump despite his improprieties"

It goes beyond that, of course. He is holding aid passed by Congress as a trading chit for a foreign country to prosecute one of his political opponents. This has multiple criminal aspects to it. Why do the Trumpettes here think he's working so hard to keep the charge on this from getting to the Congress? In addition to all of the other un-Constitutional stonewalling he's doing? Just how dumb are the Trumpettes posting here? Let's see them demonstrate their stupidity in his defense some more.

Well, you also defended Kegger Kavanaugh's sexual assault on Christine Blasey Ford as "appropriate", so at least you are consistent, if not particularly intelligent.

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? :)

Well, as long as it is Trump doing it, it's all fine, right?

Only when Obama, Clinton, or one of the Democratic candidates do something like that is it really a problem. Or, I suspect that is the gist of what you believe?

Everybody Poops. :)

It would be rather inappropriate, but not nearly as inappropriate as what Joe Biden did to advance his family interests in the Ukraine.

I find it amusing how the Democrats try to turn one of their own scandals into somehow something a Republican did wrong.

I'm struggling with the "inappropriate." First of all this is all tied up in the 2016 election fiasco. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. The president can ask anything he wants of a foreign leader. Where it may cross the line is when there's a quo quid pro associated with it. And that is definitely the case with Biden. He even bragged about it.

What is interesting to watch is the faux outrage by the congress critters that routinely engage in that sort of behavior.

I also have to wonder whether Biden jumped in the race just to immunize himself from just this sort of investigation?

Not nearly as "amusing" how hard you Trump supporters work to rationalize everything inappropriate or plain wrong the man does.

Hurr Durr! It would be rather inappropriate, but not nearly as inappropriate as what Joe Biden did to advance his family interests in the Ukraine.

Classic Whattaboutism.

Can you cite any proof, facts, anything!, that supports your statement that Ford was allegedly assaulted sexually by Kavanaugh. Do you have criminal indictments that we don't know about. Is there any pending litigation that you would care to share with us. Sexual assault is inappropriate, we all agree to that, so isn't false accusations, libel and character assassination. This isn't about Ford, you could care less, this is a severe case of TDS. You are soooo delusional you would surrender your first born to get something on Trump. You should really get medical attention and perhaps stop posting on LIT, YOU'RE MAKING AN ASS OUT OF YOURSELF! You can't differentiate from a legal statute and fantasy!

Don't forget, sleepy Joe doesn't consider China a threat either. Didn't they conjure some kind of deal with them too!

If the bitch didn't fight back and immediately report it to the police, it's not sexual assault. She was probably dressed slutty and she shouldn't have been drinking around hormonal young men. I'm not saying she deserved it, but she chose to put herself in that position and should just suck it up and get on with her life. She should be fortunate he didn't assfuck her.

^^^Hmmmm.... Timmeh or Que?

As evidenced by you three times in this thread.

Hang on there, my little pea brain is having a hard time keeping up.

So Sleepy Joe did something corrupt? Illegal? Then why in the world isn't the justice department involved and doing an investigation? Oh wait, maybe it's because it doesn't violate U.S. law? But if it involved taxpayer monies for extortion, then it has to be illegal, right? But if a foreign government was asked to investigate it instead of our own justice department, why was that done? Because it wasn't a violation of U.S. Law? If that's the case, why ask to have it investigated at all? What's the motivation? It couldn't be that it's politically motivated and doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the coming election now could it?

And since there isn't a quid pro quo, OH...wait a second....if I'm not mistaken that phrase means ,"Something that is given in return for something else or accepted as a reciprocal part of an exchange", right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If that's the case, a promise of something in exchange for the investigation by that foreign power would fit that description, right? According to Shepard Smith of FOX NEWS the Donald issued a promise of something (I'm sure we'll find out exactly what later) to the foreign leader in exchange for an investigation of Sleepy Joe and his son.
That was the reason for the whistle blower complaint.

Hmmmm........yea......I think maybe I am beginning to understand.....
