nascar refusing certain gun ads, infuriating the gun industry

I am really at a loss....for the amount of stupid these people have.

Willful and deliberate ignorance in favor of fear mongering.

Sometimes just a lack of honesty...though occasionally one comes just outright and says they want all guns banned, I can at least respect that.

Sorry....not according to the DOD. Assault rifle has selective fire.
Irt has full auto.
Can't buy full auto's. Against the law.
Assault weapons are against the law.
sorry, were you agreeing or disagreeing?

EXCEPT...assault style doesn’t fire full automatic. It is semi. Just like a nine mm hand gun.
Assault STYLE is not the same thing as an assault rifle. I do support assault rifle bans to civilians
I don’t support assault STYLE bans.

Your quote.

No...assault weapon, according to the DOD, have selective fire.
That includes, full auto. M4, and M16, also have 3-round bursts.

So....if you want to ban assault weapons to civilians, what, exactly is your criteria?
The DOD's?
or other things that no one will define?

The never answered question....what, exactly, makes a weapon, an "assault weapon".

That’s the problem, where the left lives, the blurry area. I personally, don’t feel we need to have fully auto weapons in civilians hands. Like you started they are illegal.
What annoys me is that the left and media use the term “assault style” to scare everyone. Most people see that, think of assault and it starts a panic. I feel assault style and assault aren’t the same.

Anyway I’m out. Time to feed the dogs. Go eat. Then clean my guns. Go the my Catholic Church. Then wait in my “white privilege” line to update my “white privilege” card, so I can get a tax break next April.

Lol. :)

Except every Republican politician in the last twenty years.

No....agreeing with the NRA =/= scared of the NRA.

That narrative is a leftist fantasy that inside every Republican there is an anti-civil rights leftist that would gladly shit can the civil rights of American citizens as readily as they would, if only they weren't scared of losing their re-election!!! Damn that democracy....such an enemy of "progress".

So then, hopefully, you get it.
Assault weapons, are ALREADY banned.
So, all the cries, to ban assault rifles.....something already banned....what do they want to ban?

I am just asking, what is it?
Define the criteria....their criteria.

So far....in a multitude of places.....crickets.

Bear arms = certainly! You feel the need for a military grade weapon? Go see your recruiter and enlist.

OK....then define "military grade weapon".
You know....since the military doesn't use AR-15's....and AK-47's.
Appears that those, are not up to military grade.

I've never seen a "gun ad", except in a Sportman's/hunting advertising circular.
i have... i've seen ads on tv promoting children's rifles. the sort of 'your kid will love this... be a great parent and get them what they love' showing happy smily kiddies holding their rifles in pretty colours for the girls, regular camo for boys :rolleyes:

She doesn't have the slightest fucking clue what she's talking about, she's just posting feel good bits as a virtue signal.
i am quoting from the article, which states 'assault' style or type weapons.

and bless your heart with your memed 'virtue signalling' - the li'l catchphrase employed by the morally and emotionally impoverished

connecticut defines assault weapons thusly:

  • Connecticut defines an "assault weapon" as:

    [*]Any "selective-fire" firearm capable of fully automatic, semi-automatic or "burst fire" at the option of the user;

    [*]Any semi-automatic centerfire rifle, regardless of the date produced, that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least one of the following features: 1) A folding or telescoping stock; 2) Any grip of the weapon, including a pistol grip, thumbhole stock, or other stock that would allow an individual to grip the weapon, resulting in any finger on the trigger hand in addition to the trigger finger being directly below any portion of the action of the weapon when firing; 3) A forward pistol grip; 4) A flash suppressor; or 5) A grenade or flare launcher;

    [*]A semi-automatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least one of the following features: 1) The ability to accept a detachable ammunition magazine that attaches at some location outside the pistol grip; 2) A threaded barrel capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward pistol grip or silencer; 3) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm without being burned (except a slide that encloses the barrel); or 4) A second hand grip;

    [*]A semi-automatic shotgun that has both of the following features: 1) A folding or telescoping stock; or 2) Any grip of the weapon, including a pistol grip, a thumbhole stock, or any other stock, the use of which would allow an individual to grip the weapon, resulting in any finger on the trigger hand in addition to the trigger finger being directly below any portion of the action of the weapon when firing;

    [*]A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has: 1) a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition; or 2) an overall length of less than 30 inches;

    [*]A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the ability to accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition;

    [*]A semiautomatic shotgun that can accept a detachable magazine; or
    [*]A shotgun with a revolving cylinder.[19]
Connecticut also bans listed makes and models of semiautomatic firearms and copies of those firearms. Grandfather clauses and other exceptions apply, depending.[19]

Hawaii

Hawaiian law bans the manufacture, possession, sale or other transfer of what it defines as assault pistols. Hawaii defines an

  • A shroud that is attached to or partially or completely encircles the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the second hand without being burned;
  • A manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded;
  • A centerfire pistol with an overall length of 12 inches or more; or
  • A semiautomatic version of an automatic firearm.[21]
  • In tandem with the assault pistol ban is a law that bans the manufacture, possession, sale or other transfer of detachable ammunition magazines with capacities greater than 10 rounds that are capable of use with a pistol.[36]

Maryland

  • Maryland law prohibits the possession, sale, transfer, purchase, receipt, or transportation into the state of assault weapons defined as assault pistols and assault long guns. Maryland's definition of an "assault long gun" includes a list of 45 specific firearms or their copies, with certain variations. Maryland's definition of an "assault pistol" includes a list of 15 specific firearms or their copies, with certain variations. Maryland also defines an assault weapon "copycat weapon" as:
  • A semiautomatic centerfire rifle that can accept a detachable magazine and has any two of the following: a folding stock; a grenade or flare launcher; or a flash suppressor;
  • A semiauto centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds;
  • A semiauto centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 29 inches;
  • A semiauto pistol with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds;
  • A semiauto shotgun that has a folding stock; or

  • In tandem with the assault weapons ban is a law that bans the manufacture, sale or other transfer of detachable magazines with capacities greater than 20 rounds.

there's much, much more. thanks, wiki

Pretty much bans any semi-auto weapon on the planet.....
That, is bullshit.
Or have you not thought about that?

How about a thought of your own?
What is your definition?

post 70

it's a flat out trumpian lie to say no-one is defining what constitutes an 'assault weapon' - the assault weapon ban in existence in the 90's and dropped in the early 2000's defined the term then, and consequent states/bills/laws have continued to define - with great clarity - exactly what they deem to be assault weapons. so start reading and stop your ignorant lying.

i am quoting from the article, which states 'assault' style or type weapons.

So actual military weapon and ones that aren't but might look like it so good enough to scare ignorant dipshits into believing they are the same thing.

Got it.

You can quote wiki all day, you've been demonstrating you don't know what it means for years.

Otherwise you'd understand what an irrational, deceptive and underhanded a think it is to try and conflate style with type in order to undermine people civil rights.

Or maybe you understand and you just approve of undermining peoples civil rights through fear mongering and deception? It is a REALLY common practice among "Progressive" leftist.
