The "Draft" folder contains all the emails which I (thankfully, in many cases) decided to think about prior to hitting the "Send" button.

Sometimes, it's a very, very good idea to allow 24 hours to pass before sending an email out.

watching some of the 9/11 footage yesterday took me by surprise: i never had much time for bush, his overall impression being not-too-smart and clownish. how times change; seeing him now, having been living in america under trump, bush appeared composed, a politician with some decorum and understanding of the solemnity of 9/11, not a showboater, and - in comparison - totally presidential! just goes to show how different lenses change our perception.

Doesn't matter that he and CR disregarded repeated warnings by FBI, Interpol, even Putin (who called him on the red phone two days before, to warn him of an imminent attack).

He looks presidential!

DESPITE all of those things you mention, compared to trump he managed to look and act like a president.

compared to trump isn't saying much, true; he makes almost anyone else look good

Yes, I got it. Your post was intended as a reflection on Trump.

I'm using your post to express my dismay about George Beebee's recent revelations, that Putin called Bush on the red phone two days before, to warn him about an imminent attack.
After FBI's, Interpol's repeated warnings. And still he didn't act.

I thought this revelation was big, because all of the previous accusations of inaction hinted more at lower levels types of incompetence. Condoleezza Rice wrote in her book that she regretted chucking warnings from overseas to intents of subversion or distraction, but nothing as concrete as this.

Sure, compared to Trump. He was still a shit ass president and a moron.

It's quite simple, Trump is a buffoon.

Buffoon is a upgrade for that motherfucker.

good news about china easing back on some of the trade restrictions:

China says it will exempt certain US agricultural products from tariffs and allow "relevant enterprises" to buy certain amounts of agricultural products, including soybeans and pork, from the US. That's something the Trump administration had been pushing for and is seen as a good sign in the trade negotiations.
