President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club could be hit by Hurricane Dorian, he explained while departing the White House for Camp David on Friday.

“How concerned are you about Mar-a-Lago being in the hurricane’s path?” a reporter asked.

“You know, I haven’t even thought about it until the question was just broached a little while ago. Yeah, it would look like Mar-a-Lago is dead center,” Trump said, gesturing with his right hand.

The ones I know didn’t go that far...they didn’t get wiped out but exaggerated the damage to build it back better and keep some for a rainy day. Things happen fast and loose in those situations, it seems, even if you have to insurance as well.

‘He is losing it’: Trump blasted for argument with the National Weather Service about Hurricane Dorian

President Donald Trump’s mental health was an issue of concern online after he continued to spread the lie that Hurricane Dorian threatened Alabama.

“In addition to Florida – South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated,” Trump falsely claimed on Sunday.

The National Weather Service promptly put out a statement fact-checking Trump’s tweet.

“Alabama will NOT see any impacts from Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane Dorian will be felt across Alabama,” the National Weather Service noted.

Historical data predicts a recession will hit at the worst possible time for Trump: researcher

President Donald Trump has been rattled by the recent inversion of the Treasury bond yield curve, in which short-term U.S. treasury bonds deliver higher rates of return than long-term bonds.

The reason for the president’s nervousness about this particular economic indicator is because an inverted curve has happened shortly before each of the past seven recessions, which would be very bad for the president’s 2020 reelection campaign.

Jim Bianco, the CEO of economics research firm Bianco Research, has looked at the historical data of yield curve inversions and found that recessions on average occur just over 300 days after the yield curve for 3-month Treasury bonds and 10-year Treasury bonds inverts for 10 consecutive days.

Given the timing of this particular yield curve inversion, Bianco projects that a recession is most likely to hit next April, which is just when the 2020 presidential campaign will be kicking into high gear.

Most economists agree a recession will hit within the next two years, and even Republicans admit President Donald Trump is ill-equipped to navigate a downturn.

The U.S. manufacturing sector contracted for the first time in more than three years, another worrying signal as the global economy struggles under the weight of Trump’s trade war with China, reported Politico.

The president and his current economic advisers insist Trump is winning the trade war, and argue the only danger of a recession comes from media reports on the warning signs of a slowdown.

“Frankly, I don’t think he really understands any of this,” the former official told Politico. “The manufacturing slowdown, the lack of corporate investment, what’s happening to confidence — all of this was totally predictable based on what he’s done. But he sees it as a political advantage, that he can tell people he got tough on China and needs to finish the job.”
