So, I submitted my first story to be published on the site a few days ago. However, both last night and this morning, I saw that the time for when the story had been submitted had been reset. Right now, it says it’s only been hours rather than days. Does this mean anything?

Note: I’m not complaining about the length of time it takes to review a story. It takes however long it takes. I’m just wondering why the timer is resetting.

It means it's about to go live on the next midnight server run. The system resets to the "published" date. Do NOT touch any button!

If you accessed the story after you submit it, then you are resetting the date. Otherwise, the clock resets when the story is accepted for publication. It should change from the time when you submitted it to the future date when it will be published.

Man, Law of the Forbidden Fruit. All I want is for my story to get published and to see what people think of it. But now I really, really want to go press a button to mess with it.

Thank you very much for clarifying.

Chop your fingers off before you mess with it.

That's a fatal mistake - don't worry about what you've just written. It is what it is, and if it's crap or brilliant, you'll soon find out.

Worry about your next one, because it will be better, and the one after that, better still. Nobody's last story is ever their best - you haven't written your best one yet :).

Slap that hand!

You can't fix the typo you just found, adjust your tags, or try a new short description without moving the submittal date. Take a breath, relax, start a new story.

That’s exactly what I’m doing. The writing, not the self mutilation. It’s not Thursday.

Personally, I got inspired when thinking on the summer loving theme, so hopefully that will lead to an exciting story.
