you do realize that you have an instant banning device right at your fingertips? it's called the ignore option. instead of even giving a shit about what some people post, put their asses on ignore.

well there ya go: my first instinct, having generally spoken/read them long enough to decide they're toxic, is exactly that. which is why i have such a huge ignore list - mostly the multiple-alts of a smaller sub-section of posters but who come back with the same bullshit.

i'm no angel, and don't claim to be, so if i see them bullying or lying in a particularly toxic manner, or breaking the couple of major rules on what is one of the most liberal-speech forums out there that is free to use, then i will tend to react. i hate an injustice. i do. i don't bother with all the petty stuff i see, and i'm damned sure there's a ton i DON'T see, but when people come in here and abuse a site they've been able to use to have fun/promote their own writing/read free stuff and meet other people and all for no fee, it's just wrong.

Can someone help me out with a question I have.

I frequent, or rather, used to frequent, a local forum, but I got banned, quite unfairly as its a forum that has some overly strict mods on it. When I re-register it doesn't take long before I'm banned again, even though I'm behaving myself; they must be able to see my IP address!

My question is - if I was to register using a different device and ISP at someone else's house, would the forum detect it was me if I logged in using my device/ISP back at my house?
