If Money Were No Object....

We all think about what we would do if money were no object. There are lifestyle changes we would make, like where we live, whether we would continue working or not, gifts for loved ones, etc. Also, there are ways we would approach events and things that pop up. My son is getting married, for example, and I'm sure if money were no object, the wedding would be different. Not better, just different.

What about you? What do you think about if money were no object?

I'll start, although I spilled the beans in the Morning thread:

IMWNO, I'd rent a house in Key West Florida for the entire month of August.

Not this one necessarily, but not bad, huh?

Not bad at all! GPS location, and where you hid the spare key, please!

IMWNO, I would retire immediately. Move from the mountains to the beach. And buy a nearby farm, where I would raise service dogs and give them away to police, SAR units, and the disabled.

Great Topic, OP!

IMWNO, I would move to Texas and start a woodshop that would be located on my self sufficient ranch. I'd make everything from small novelty items like the painted silhouettes of granny gardening to large furniture including specialty kink furniture, like whipping posts, spanking horses and guillotine head and footboards.

If Money Were No Object...

I would hire millions of people to stand outside election booths across the county for the next election, to persuade the voters to vote for anyone running against Trump ( giving each one a suitcase of money )

Editing this to say...In case the internet police are roaming, I am just kidding:)

IMWNO of course I would set up my family first and foremost. Then, I would have a cottage or mini motel on Treasure Island that would pay for itself and fund my next statement.

Like beachbaby (wonderful idea btw) I would have a grand piece of land where any animal that is unwanted and/or set to be euthanized would come and live the rest of his or her life out in a peaceful sanctuary. The elderly that do not have friends or relatives, would come and work with the animals and live there with love and companionship. Any homeless families that have no relatives or friends can live on the land and help work it and in turn receive whatever they need - love, understanding and finally peace...

Beautiful:heart:

I would travel to the poorest of areas, rural and urban, and observe the city, town or county. Quietly obtain permissions to change an area around by cleaning it, physically, helping residents build up their homes for what is needed to restore, repair and/or replace what is needed. Bring the schools up to code. Make sure an accurate education is presented and local heroes are highlighted. Create an environment where neighbors are free to care, be and live. Make sure residents are familiar with the importance of health and nutrition by creating an environment where a mind a grow and expend energy away from a computer screen for a bit. For the existing problems, address them openly and directly with a think tank of the smartest minds to build, grow and mentor fresh and innovative ideas, making them a reality. Encourage the minds of the residents to soar.

Access to knowledge would be always available. Encourage forward thinkers and thinking. Address the needs of the community instead of attacking a symptom of the issue. If someone needed help, look at them, acknowledge them and take on the responsibility to see to them and help them get to where/what they need, however they need. Encourage the residents to do the same. Create an environment in what Marva Collins did in schools but upscaled on the scale of a city or town or county.

Create a self sufficient, innovative society. Allow the children from that upbringing to escalate that innovative brand of thinking to expand within and beyond this area. Allow that brand of thinking to be an influence in whatever the offspring of those who learned to constantly grow and encourage their minds to grow and soar, thinking outside the box as to what was presented to them.

You clearly need a life coach if you can't figure out how to relax there. Just saying. :D

I'm sure there are philanthropic things we all would do, so I won't talk about those. In all honesty, I have not had a vacation in over twenty years, so I would buy myself a ticket to Jamaica and spend a month doing whatever I damn well pleased

First, I'm buying an island with a volcano on it. Then I'm getting some frickin' sharks with frickin' lasers on their heads...

I would travel around the world and not come back until I've seen everything my heart desires.

I'd make sure my family were taken care of

And yes I'd help animals. If you know me at all you already know I'm an animal lover and support several causes.

I feel like you've never been to Key West in August. Do you like swamp ass?

Philanthropy and all that. Blah blah.

But really...

I'd buy a tiger. That would be bad ass. I'd give him enough room to run around.

How do I feed this tiger? Good question.

This is where my enemies come into play. They'd be tiger food. I assume having copious amounts of cash makes me above the law. (see nearly everyone with lots of money as an example) Several people need to disappear.

I don't need a ton of houses. Just one decently big one. Location TBD. Maybe Norway. I'd buy a shit tonne of guitars. I would buy the rights to every Maroon5 album and require them to never be played again. I would do the same with Big Bang Theory. And the first one of you here to suggest it is a good show is the first one fed to Mr Meowgi. That's my tiger's name. I'd go to Iceland on vacation. I need to see the Northern Lights.

If money were no object....
I would definitely have to brush up on my secret Santa skills. I'd walk the streets and help less fortunate people in need.
I would check in to Children's Hospitals and help the parents that couldn't afford the bill of a sick child, of course all my family and friends would be taken care of. I would definitely share my wealth.

This is such a beautiful thought❤️

IMWNO I would buy a big beautiful house on the beach in my favorite beach town and turn it into a bed and breakfast. I would live on premises and also have my mom come and live there as well. I would make sure she would have all she wanted and needed and take care of her. I would also do something similar for unwanted animals/terminally ill animals such as Lily mentioned, that is something that is near and dear to my heart. I would also adopt and become a mom❤️and give them a wonderful life with lots of love.

I’d like to thank the creator of this thread for the proper use of the word “were” (as opposed to “was”) in the thread title. Unrealistic conditionals for the win!

I've had some time to think about this one.
I'd like to do a Trading Places scenario like Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy, except put Trump and his family in the poor section of Baltimore with no money. I'd have a black female president constantly harassing them saying nasty things about them publicly just to make things even worse. It would be fun to see them cope without the privileged lives they led before and see how the poor get by. The Donald would be pimping Melania's and Ivanka's asses out and putting Jared on the corner to panhandle.
Oh, the Republican asshats in the Senate would live in the same complex and sit around in their 'wife beaters' drinking beer together as they discussed how tough it was getting by each day on nothing. That would be worth every cent it cost to do.

Oh and I'd bet a buck I could make them do that too, lol;)

Chinese take-out afterward? My treat.

I would open up a bank and some private schools, to help my people. Of course a big piece of property and learn how to farm.

IMWNO...
Pay off my school loans.
Pay off my house.
Redo my house, then sell it.
Buy farm house, off grid then renovate for self sufficiency.
Have an apiary and herb garden in the back.
Pay off my siblings' debts.
Build a center in Downtown Houston for the homeless people who always stop me for coffee and change. Separate the mentally ill from the physically useful and allocate appropriately to either a work program or mental health facility.

Get elected president of the World.

Rule said world from renovated farm house.

I don't know...any or all of the above.

I have loved reading all your responses...

I would Make sure all my loved ones and friends were debt free and able to retire and encourage them to see the world...

I would donate to several Churches and Hindu Temples that have become near and dear to me over my lifetime...

Give the gift of education to as many people as I could...

There are several Philanthropic/Charitable causes that are very meaningful to me that I would help and donate my time to...At the top of that list is Vitamin Angels...

I would pack a suitcase and just travel the world and see all the places I have not seen, that I could...Travel is magic for my spirit...

:heart::heart::heart:

I would set up a number of organizations to enact change.

I would make sure everyone I care about has enough of everything they need. Always

I would travel the world. I would have a “home base” in Denver.
I would spend my time exploring and making beautiful things and learning.
And I would surround myself with those I love:heart:

Money doesn’t buy happiness but it solves day to day problems in many cases and frees you up to enjoy your life instead of working for 2 weeks a year
