Ahahaha. I thought so. I stand behind black beans in chili!

And pineapple on my pizza. Don't tell pointless.

Sometimes beans go in chili. Sometimes button mushrooms find their way in there, or grilled corn, cut from cobs. And nobody ever complains.

Unless you’re making a pot in a chili cook-off and the judge from Texas is gonna stomp on his Stetson if he sees beans, best just make it how you like it.

And some pineapple on pizza never hurt anybody. Some sweet to go with the salty in the ham/bacon and the savoury in the sauce.

Fun pineapple pizza fact - pineapple was first put on a pizza by a Greek-Canadian restaurant owner in Canada. They served Chinese food in his restaurant and he noticed his patrons liked the dishes that were both sweet and savoury, or sweet and sour. So he added pineapple to pizza and it was a hit. He named the pizza ‘Hawaiian’ due to the fact that the canned pineapple used on his pizzas were from Hawaii.

I've been to more than a few Chili cookoffs here since I've been living in Texas, and they get a bit...esoteric. (see: Armadillo chili? Really?)

Some are very very good (and I've had venison chili, which I like). At least the fad about using ghost peppers is subsiding. Heat for the sake of heat is not a good thing (and I say that as a guy who likes hotter peppers).

Edited to add:
Thank you pantalaimonlyra. :)

Funny how easy it is to trigger poor Queef. Realizing I'm not Rob in Houston would just shatter his world.

Went to Mia, which incredibly I hadn't been to until today. I've been to the Weisman a number of times, however.

Nice. I haven’t been to any for a real visit this summer. I haven’t had the time to accept invitations for special tours like I used to. I love going behind the scenes, and have since my days of hanging at the Art Institute of Chicago.

I’m not a huge chili fan, but the fella does it well. I wouldn’t mind tasting yossi’s chili.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is also superb, if you ever have the chance to visit. I didn't know what to expect before walking into Mia, but their Asian and Native American collections are extensive.

Weisman is small, but it has some fun pieces. Getting to it can mean a walk across campus, though. In my case, at least.

That giant white sunshade thing (I looked it up, "brise soliel") is what I remember most about the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Oh I have been several times. The same friend that was at the Art Institute is now there.

I recently toured the campus with the oldest munchkin that has an interest in art. It’s way down on her list of schools to attend now after going out east. It’s a beautiful campus. The only close one on top is Macalester.

Probably in Quebec. Montreal pizza is blah. Don’t like it.

Without going in to too many details in public, I got to be very familiar with that campus. The mall is very pretty in summer. But walking across that pedestrian bridge is hell in January.

talking about it is like opening a box i’ve tightly shut in the attic. only to return the lid and hide it away again.

Chili is sometimes a catch all for me - use up whatever veggies I have, but at that point maybe it's more like goulash. If I'm doing veggie chili it's almost all beans with quinoa thrown in towards the end.

I like banana peppers with the pineapple. A hint of spice, a little sweet, the salt of the cheese. It all calls to me. I like a little sea salt on top of my chocolate chip cookies too.

your food is awesome, swing by and share please

Omw!

It's got some heat, which I love. I have enough to feed the GB with some leftovers if I also make cornbread.

Sorry, pineapple on pizza renders it unpizza. You’d be shot in Naples. Deservedly.

I'm not worried, I'll just keep my ball cap pulled over my eyes when I get to Naples. And my pineapple in my pocket for quick peppering upon my pizza. :cattail:

i made pizza tonight. there was no pineapple on it because i have working tastebuds. instead there were just mushrooms, peppers, black and green olives, banana peppers, red onions and pepperoni. i'm taking a break from anchovies or they would've been on there as well.
