Bundy was articulate and intelligent and was able to fool some people, including many of his victims. However, once it became known what a monster he was, Conservatives wanted to put him to death and Liberals, most of whom oppose capital punishment, wanted to support him for the rest of his life in prison.

I still say Cons. look on people as individuals and Libs. look on them as members of groups. Affirmative Action and school busing are very group oriented, and are favored by the latter and usually opposed by the former. Conservatives favor hiring and promoting the most qualified and admitting to graduate schools those with the best potential. Liberals are more concerned with racial and gender balance.
