Anyone on here had any experience with art on either Patreon or subscribe-star ?

It's something I have been wanting to try for a while, but not sure if there would be any interest in my art.

Would like to hear from anyone on both sides of the experience, i.e. an artist and also if anyone actually subscribed to an artist.

Basically until you have a large following from links coming into them it's a moot point as far as interest generally, as people don't typically search out via patreon or SS.

I can say that Subscribe-Star is a lot more friendly for dealing with the owners of the site via emails and things. Their payment processor is very independent, they are also less likely to delete / restrict your account, but it is a new kid on the block and less known.

Thanks for the info, one of the things that (kind of) worries me starting up on Patreon is that I have seen a lot of artists with 0 patreons even months after starting up there, it would seem that you need to build up a following elsewhere and take them over there with you (such as through Youtube). making a youtube channel is a whole different ball game though......
Subscribe-star does look friendlier but did they not have Paypal take their facility away ? not sure what their payment system is, and probably even harder to get any subscribers, anyway I will still keep an eye open on them...

Their payout system is via credit / debit cards to your bank which is fine.
