According to my Barometer, the pressure is rising towards "Fair".
There's a distinct lack off communication here, I think; someone has not told the clouds to p1$$ off and leave us some warmth - yet.

Time for Tea

We were supposed to be warm to hot today. Instead we have had a continuous NE gale from the Arctic. Why did I change my duvet for the summer one?

A warm drink is needed...

I found a notice from the City's Film Office posted on the building door when I left work. A flick named Army of the Dead is filming "in my neighborhood." The address they gave doesn't correspond to a building. This is the the same production that a couple weeks ago was advertising for a large number of zombie extras.

I suspect that they're going to shut down the intersection and parking lot outside my office for filming, with a couple blocks of the E-W street blocked off for their trucks.

The notice was dated today, but it didn't give a filming date. There have been "Special Event" signs up in the area all week.

How's the move prep coming, Chloe?

Uh, we haven't heard a word from her in a couple of days. Either she is writing like crazy to get her Nude Day story finished or she is buried under a ton of books. One more day and I'm sending in the trapped people dogs.

Fresh coffee is available while we wait.

Chloe showed up on a couple other threads.

Besides, the Nude Day deadline isn't until the 11th of next month. SuperChloe could work daily, pack, move, unpack, and write a novel before then.

Good morning to one and all.

Coffee is ready for those in need. I'm working on a hot chocolate but that is a whole other story. Raisin Bran for breakfast.

I've already done about 2k words and that may be my limit for the day. I have other stuff that needs doing.

Hi NotWise, hi everybody.
Army of the Dead! Wish I was there-- I'm a zombie fanatic. I've already been anxiously awaiting its release. 2020 seems a long way away. Wish I was there to catch a glimpse of the filming.

Gunpowder green tea.

It looks like it's too late to get in as an extra. Their open casting call was last Saturday. You never know, though. They could still be looking. Latham Casting was doing the work.

I reread the announcement when I came in this morning. It does give a filming date as all day on 7/15. I'm sure there will be a lot of other locations and dates. I was off on the address, too. The location given is a closed Chinese/American fast food restaurant named "Lucky Boy."

I have a buddy who might be interested in being an extra, I'll pass it on to him. I just like to see how the sausage is made. Sounds really cool. thanks for the info!

Filming isn't usually a spectator event. The process is slow, and they have site security.

Sondervig Denmark ca. 1992: We had some contacts with a couple people who made 'nudie... not really porn videos.' They filmed this gorgeous Welsh girl frolicking in the incoming North Sea waves. There were like 20 folk there and they had a warming tent with a heater. The water was darn cold. It took ten hours to shoot the half-hour video (we have a copy, and no we won't post it).

She stripped erotically and then masturbated and peed and played in the waves. The finished product is so smooth. It conveys ZERO of the actual temperature (those nips were not hard with desire) or circumstances. But today we are in our sixties, and she is in her fifties. I hope that she has a copy of the film. She was magnificent on that day. (I hope she still is.)

Fresh coffee for lunch. What to eat, is a whole other question.

Been out in the shop. Thr tumble of thunder in the distance caught my attention. No rain so far but...

Janie, that sounds like almost any weekend somewhere on this lake during the summer. Amateurs are so much fun to sneak up on. They are not hard to find. Three or four spots are normally active at any one time. My new low profile electric boat is perfect for being sneaky. ;)

I haven't heard of porn being filmed here, but I'd be surprised if it weren't.

A couple weeks ago a friend of mine rented a passenger van for a tour he helped organize, and when he picked up the van he found a list that was left behind by the previous renter -- apparently a film company. It listed of the personnel and equipment that was supposed to be in the van.

The list included boxes of lingerie and toys, and the crew included the 'Intimacy Coordinator,' which is a relatively new position on crews filming sex scenes. The Intimacy Coordinator's main job is to make sure that intimacy stops when the sex scene is over. That's to avoid the sort of sexual harassment incidents revealed by #MeToo.

And there she wasn't.
Oh, Blast.

Time for a cup of Tea after a surprisingly warm afternoon.

For you HP;

Yesterday upon the stair
I met a woman who wasn't there;
She wasn't there again to day,
Oh, how I wish she'd go away

(with heartfelt apologies to William Hughes Mearns)

I thought it was HG Wells. . . .
There's a funny in BB's in-box.

And I thought the electric boat was because you were burnishing your 'greenie' credentials. :D

The boats I use have both a gas and and an electric motor. I'm not sure where that places me on the "Greenie" scale. The 8' has a 2.5hp two stroke and a 30# trolling motor. The 10' has a 5 hp four stroke and and a 45# trolling motor.

What I sell comes as a boat. Trailers, motors, hand rails, ect are sold as extras, if I have them in stock. Good used outboards used to be inexpensive. Not so any longer.

The evening coffee is ready.

Supper is undecided at the point in time.

Thank You.

I was going to share a story BB told me about his time in the sandbox but changed my mind; it was a spooky story, but kinda downbeat, sad-spooky, not creepy-spooky, he's not even sure about it himself, and he was there when it happened, but he told me it anyway and let me make up my own mind; we were just talking and then suddenly he was finally sharing some of what went on out there, what he saw and had to do, and the story he told me just popped out. He doesn't believe that stuff is real so he's kind of in a quandry as to what it means. I'm just glad he told me, because i love a good ghost story, but he was right, it was sad and sorrowful, not all 'Halloween-tingly-creepy', just...sad

Sometimes, letting the sad out is part of the healing. Been there, done that, even it if was a long time ago now.

It is, I think, like childbirth. Some truths can only be understood by those who already know them from personal experience.

For Will: :rose:

It's difficult for soldiers to tell stories to civilians, mostly because civilians lack context.

My favorite Army story is FUCKING HILARIOUS when told to other veterans, but horrifying when told to civilians. Why? Because it hinges on the boredom of standing guard over a motor pool at 0300 in a foreign land. And the behavior of a stray dog.

Veterans, who have all pulled motor-pool guard at 0300 (or something similar), know exactly what kind of behavior shows up in that kind of setting. Civilians, who haven't, need to have it explained. And as all of us know, too much explanation ruins a good story. It's a funny story BECAUSE of that context, and explaining that context is a chore.

So veterans often don't want to start telling things to civilians. It takes too much effort. They'd rather talk to people who already get the context.
