i think he fails to understand that, while some areas will benefit from more moisture in the air and warmer climes, the rise of sea-levels will mean a greater loss of currently habitable land... and that'll mean mass migration to those areas still above the waters. sucks if they take a leaf out of t's books and decide they need a wall to keep out those pesky 'muricans.
of course, it also means a lot more, like more extreme weather events of a destructive nature, the probable loss of the gulf stream system and all that entails. things that'd happen anyway, eventually, but why rush into it when some brakes can be applied?
And it's proof the change is for the better.
Listen to you two, claiming a catastrophic change of the world’s climate is beneficial, and any steps to mitigate it will lead to collapse of civilization, mass starvation and death. What brakes do you imagine could be applied, without destroying our civilization?
AOC's plan to starve the masses would have worked, but of course, billions of people would have died (the Green New Deal).

So where’s your proposal to force more CO2 into the air in the name of prosperity?

How is what Rob was wearing relevant at all? Or are you suggesting Rob was worn?![]()
I never said it was beneficial, just inevitable. We're all dead - it's just a matter of a few decades, more likely centuries, if we're lucky, maybe a few millennium (that's 1,000 years, not a bunch of kids).
If humans did cause this to happen, then the answer is to stop fucking with the environment.
Only if we do, most of us die because it is not possible to maintain a technological civilization using hand tools and horses. So we won't stop.
So let's instead start fucking with the environment even MORE. Maybe we can find a way to sequester that pesky carbon in deep bore wells or something. A little terraforming never hurt anybody.
Phro, do you have any idea how many horror movies and sci fi thrillers are based on terraforming gone wrong?
The situation (regardless of the CAUSE) is bad enough. Deal with it.
If some cities are swamped (which might or might not happen - probably not IMO but hey who knows) then they get swamped. They'll either go dutch or they'll go age of aquarius and the survivors will move.
Crops will fail. So eat less, eat different, import food or die. Those actually are all the options.
Stop trying to fix it. You're going to make it worse. If we caused it, you'll screw it up more. If we didn't cause it, you'll screw it up more.
Or just have everyone stop fucking. Of course that would fuck with the whole social security system.
Yes in the long run humankind is inevitably going to be impacted by the environment but we have no idea until it happens what that's going to look like. When we enter the next ice age (if human civilization survives that long) we will be looking for tips on how to cause global warming.
And the glaciers in Glacier National Park are growing again.
WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!
You've confused a controlled benchtop, static, closed system with an immensely complex, open, multivariate, dynamic system.
As a result of that fundamental error, you've fooled yourself (which is precisely what Feynman warned you about).
Do we take your word for it?And the glaciers in Glacier National Park are growing again.
WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!
Bloomberg writes as if this is a problem.
It's pretty common practice to keep a field pressurized. No need for the nasty pump jacks.

Said the expert, about a state with over a hundred earthquakes a year.
Its findings, published in the journal PNAS on Monday, revealed how increasingly strong winds in the region are causing turbulence deep within the sea, and as a result mixing warm water from middle levels with colder water in the abyss.
