So, my pointless rant for today. I am back to my thoughts on the meaning of Dad bod as I saw and looked at the thread that got bumped last night.
ok, first let me clarify when I hear any type of body reference as to type, I don't really think that much on um muscle definition standards I guess. Not that that may not be someone included, but I think more along the of path what clues, likely due to impacts of the chosen word type applied, would the body reflect. Almost more like how a pathologist would look. Like again, I listed many types of physical changes and injuries that would be seen on the body of a mother. These are just facts. If you say trucker's body, I think of the cardiovascular indications of a sedentary career, coupled with the long term high use of ephedrine, caffeine and such that might be visible in the hands, coupled with the obvious asymmetrical sun damage. A life long trucker shows more sun damage on the left than the right. It just is. If you say a dancer's body (like dancer, not stripper, though truth, there are a lot of physical markings of a stripper too, just not going there), I think again the cardiovascular and skeletal implications of the low body weight, the early arthritis of the lower body, the tendon damage, and the obvious, the feet. The amount and pattern of damage to a dancers feet is clearly recognizable. Roofer's body, you have the gait of long term repetitive back injury, backed up with a x-ray or mri, the scars from probable knee surgery, scars to the hands and forearms, and the biggie, long term sun damage disproportionately accrued on the back. Roofing is one of the few careers where the person spends a long amount of time, shirtless but in pants, in the sun, primarily on their hands and knees.
Anyway, I guess it seems most people when they hear dad bod are thinking of a male, my age, who doesn't live in a gym. Honestly, to me, that would be the best kind. Not that I don't like looking at those chiseled works of art, but really it is like you 50 and 60 year old guys looking at that firm 19 year old chick (well if you are smart). Sure she has a body that could stop traffic, but what would be the reality of living with her? Are you ready do don roller blades, yeah young people like to do that shit. Oh, go to the skate park, do some kick flips with your board...are you actually going down that pipe without thinking damn, hope I don't break a hip. Holding her hair while she pukes, several times. learning ones alcohol limits is what one does at that age. You going to get dress up in flashy clothes, at 11pm, to go to that club or rave and dance the night away? What about in a couple years when she wants kids, You ready to be a 65 year old dad? Yeah, she is much better as a fantasy.
That is how I feel about those yummy looking works of art. They are fun to fantasize about, but I see the reality. I see the hours in the gym. I see I will end up sitting in the basement gym, while they do the look at me thing like kids or that Saturday night live boy man as they stack more and more weight on that bar. I see that they will want to do things that make little sense as a perfectly good engine does it better. Let's jog to the store? No, let's take the car. Let's row on the lake, um my boat has an engine, sure it is a crappy boat with an engine I have to curse at while pulling the cord, but still. Soon, they will expect me off the couch doing powlates or some shit. Ok, the pow portion might be fun once, but you take your lates and bands, and shove them back in a closet. Won't say no to lattes though. I don't want to hike the Appalachian trail with you, come, sit on the couch and share my cookies. You can even laugh at the crumbs falling in my bra. Men who put in the work to be that, need women who put in the work to be that. And that ain't me.
Anyway, back to the original point. I still can't be happy taking dad bod as physical build type with little actual meaning, as I am a complete wackadoo. So back to a more scientific mindset, what could I see on a dad, that I probably won't see in many other places? I think I finally got it. I don't know if it could truly be seen, even on mris and such, though maybe, there would have to be scientific studies. However, if there is any possible physical trait seen among dads, like actual dads, not sperm donors, men who are there day in and day out, that wouldn't be seen on most other men, I think I know what it would be.
And that is evidence of repetitive blows to the nads. Come on, dads, you know it is true. When they are one, and starting to walk in their little weeboks, and you pick them up, and they kick excitedly, weebok to the nads. When they are a little bigger and running full force, now there head is perfectly groin high. The run at you excitedly when you get home, head butt to the nads. You carry their tantruming asses out of a store, oh yeah several heels to the nads. They get bigger and horse play and wrestle, feet and elbows to the nads.
