The Crusades were in response to islamic Countries declaring war on Europe and raping, kidnapping their women into slavery and sex slaves, murdering, ect. They were freeing them. The Crusades were a good thing.

I believe He is a loving God, but He is also a just God. If He were a vengeful God would He have sent His only Son to be spit on, beaten, whipped to where the flesh was torn from His body, mocked, nailed to the cross and suffer and then die? He did that BECAUSE He doesn't want to send anyone to hell. So far He has been dealing with man for 6000 years trying to bring Him to salvation, so I don't think it's fair to accuse Him of rushing to judge man. There is no better place to share the Gospel than right here, there is no better time to share it than right now. I never said anything about sex and I never condemned anyone. You are the one judging me because you are being convicted of your sin by the nature of this post. My real motive is to bring you and everyone here to salvation through turning to Jesus Christ. Read this first post and you will know the real motivation of this thread. It's not a hidden agenda.
 
Well that is fine then. I too am a follower and worshipper of Jesus and I do believe He is the risen savior and I am grateful to Him for my salvation.

I don't really discuss it much on forums, though. I do admit to getting cynical about religious posts, because I see a lot of them that ARE judgemental; for example, "you are going to hell because you are not a Christian, or you are a Christian but you are Not Christian Enough, or are the Wrong Kind of Christian, or you vote Democratic...or you like sex." And I do suspect that my views on sex and sexuality are very different from yours, and it is possible that my political and social views are quite different as well. For example, not every self professed "Christian" political figure has views that are that very enlightened or gracious towards the rest of humanity, I have found. Plus, I hear a lot of "Doomsday Cult" religion masquerading as Christianity, which is a big turnoff to me as well.

So that explains my cynicism. I intended no disrespect. I do tend to keep matters of faith to myself though.

Just remember that the Foundation of Christianity is the Word of God. We are supposed to based our beliefs on what the Bible says.
 
Don't think there is a heaven after life or any sort of afterlife. Try to live in the present and make your heaven here itself

Let’s see... Matthew and Luke tell us that Jesus was born around 1AD. The Christians believed this strongly enough that they started a new calendar, although they botched it by a few years.

But in John 8:58 Jesus says that he was alive before Abraham. Are we supposed to believe him, or the guys who made the calendar?

I believe both. Jesus existed before His physical birth. He is the one who spoke to Moses on Mt. Sinai. He is the one who ate with Abraham and went down to Soddam and Gomorrah and destroyed it for it's perverse sins, He is the one who wrestled with Jacob, He is the one who created all things and spoke it into existence. All this was long before Christ's birth.

Drivel. The fact that Yaweh Saboath was willing to kill Isaac to "test" Abraham only proves that your god Yaweh was a mean minded asshole without any moral compass, and totally unworthy of any worship.

Later on he tortured Job in a similar fashion, impoverishing him and killing all those close to him. All that proved was firstly, Job's complete naivety and secondly, that your god did not have a shred of morality. Your god's behavior towards Job was not that of a loving god, or a just god, or even a vaguely rational god. Your god in his attitude to Job and Abraham proved that he is an unmitigated fucking cunt.

No wonder you think you were made in his image. :rolleyes:
