While promising to rob the rich Jews and give the money to ‘the people’ Hitler was seen as a great hero.

Actually all socialist leaders that come into power are seen as heroes in the moment. The starry eyed youth that are glutted with confidence that ‘their’ utopian dream of making the world ‘fair’ look to these rock star socialist leaders with awe.

The crowds chanted Hitler’s praise. But for some reason after they come to power, after their control of people’s lives takes its full grasp, after the inevitable bloodshed and starvation and downward spiral of society… history remembers them as assholes.

Hitler is almost universally recognized as an asshole. And yet at the time the German youth gazed at him with watery eyes as they praised their great leader.

The ‘rock stars’ of today’s socialist movement are also extolled by today’s crop of young people that believe in ‘free stuff’ from the government.

But, history will remember them the way history remembers them all. The charism doesn’t travel through time with them. The fake propaganda news will not travel through time with them. Only the sad record of the horror they bring to the world will travel to the future. History will remember them for what they are. Egotistical assholes.

You have to start with economically ignorant people. This is why economics isn't a required subject in K-12.

It should be noted that the existence of metal-based (historical) and debt-based (current) currencies in the Western civilisational tradition have only served to demonstrate how selfishly-orientated international banking interests (and the multi-national, multi-faceted corporations that collude with these interests) can hold entire populations hostage in what has become an inherently rigged, global resource-grabbing game.

"Germany's unforgivable crime before the second world war was its attempt to loosen its economy out of the world trade system and to build up an own exchange system from which the world-finance couldn't profit anymore."
Sir Winston Churchill

The basic problem with teaching economics beyond an 18th century understanding of
the micro basics is the extreme division in political macro Economics.

If you are from the Economic Left (including MMT) then you really don't want your wards exposed to anything from the Economic Right, therefore, since the Left controls education, mum is the word...

M-M-M-Mum is the word!

Time to drag the left out of our schools by the hair before they destroy the nation with their one sided bullshit.

It's already over and they are singing their victory songs.

It is now no longer a matter of 'if'

but 'when...'

Every time a democrat suggests an economic policy Americans should ask a couple of simple questions:

How does this policy affect our liberty and our freedom of choice?

Does this policy strengthen the private sector or weaken it?

A well educated "progressive" will be along any moment to inform you that the Nazi state taking control over the means of production and distribution of goods and services was in no way shape or form any sort of socialism.

socialism noun
so·cial·ism | \ ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm \
Definition of socialism
1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/socialism

Because everyone who is anyone and not a racist Nazi with white male privilege KNOWS socialism is nothing but warm fuzzies, rainbows and unicorn farts that (D)emocrats approve of and lift everyone up from the evil oppression of whiteness and the patriarchy.

Right Guy

All subjective valuations in a world of moral relativism.
We've seen them argue that lack of economic opportunity strengthens the family;
brings them closer together...

Simple questions are better framed as

"Do you want to save the planet, or your job?"

Remember, when the ACA (AKA Obamacare) was put to the CBO?
Measured as a static and Left-leaning economic policy,
it was scored as an economic benefit as per
the Historical School of Economics
(the Economics of The Chair).

So you cannot ask the question because, in the world of Economics,
there is no "dismal science" but attempts to predict Human Action.
The two sides are forever trying to predict how individuals will react as if
they were Hari Seldon and Human Action could be reduced to a series of
inputs and outputs.

No amount of current education can change this outcome.
Both (all) sides can elaborate a justification and benefit for just about 'anything'
even if educated in "classic" micro-economics.
The macro is just such a hard handle to grasp...

The Nazis also hated immigrants and were fond of referring to the free press as the enemy of the people, but do keep being a major bonehead.

Until it is repudiated by reality.

Reality can always be explained away.

How many times in your life have you now seen that happen?

2% (or less) growth in now the new reality...

Oh, wait? 3% growth? Trump didn't build that! WE DID!

Ring any bells???

The bell is tolling 24/7 for those in Venezuela who've been introduced to the reality of their political ignorance. Just sayin'.

Not all ignorance results in bliss.

But I guess I'd be the greatest summabeech in all of world history, cuz those Kardasishits'd all be penniless and turning tricks in Tijuana within weeks of my Inauguration.
