No more "yuge": Alec Baldwin ends his Emmy-Award-winning portrayal of Donald Trump

Goodbye, Alex? Are you under the impression that celebrities (dead or alive) read your threads?

Who is going to play The Donald for the next five seasons?

Long past time IMO. Once you got past the surprise factor of "OMG, Alec Baldwin is impersonating Donald Trump," I don't think there was much there.

Of course, some of that is the fault of the writers. I don't think it's important necessarily for SNL to have an ideology, but I think too much of their political humor is based on expecting viewers to believe the mere fact of the impersonation is funny.

Their writing has become lazy and repetitive. Tina Fey is greatly missed as head writer on the show.

A cold look at the skits show some pretty lame material. Good impersonations but mostly from that blonde chick from Ghostbusters. For some reason I can never remember her name. She's a chameleon and funny as hell.
People liked the idea of taking digs at Trump and him reacting to it so much that nobody noticed they skits just really aren't that funny. And then they became A-list cameo excuses.

It's amazing to me how the left will elevate a total shitbag in the interest of negative politics. :)
