Leon Redbone

Had never heard him before, but saddened at the passing of his obvious talent.

RIP Mr. Redbone. Thanks for the music, especially my favourite version of "Frosty the Snowman".

one of the greats!

He was such an unknown/unappreciated artist. One of my favorites.

He will be missed

R.I.P. Leon

I should have learned something then...

I've been a longtime fan of his, and saw him at Slim's in San Francisco once, on an early date with my 2nd ex-wife.
She didn't get him at all.
I appreciate him even more now.

BTW: I loved the press release saying he had died at the age of 127. He should have been born in 1892. RIP.

He was so young! I always loved his voice. I remember seeing him on SNL way back when, a lot.

RIP Mr. Redbone :rose:

At the age of 127 Indeed! He was certainly an old soul & one hell of a talent,
vocally and instrumentally. Totally unique - that mold is broken.

We've lost a lot of unique voices in the past few years. Someone go check on Tom Waits, OK?

I remember seeing Leon on SNL during the first season. That show was very new and different and cutting edge (yes, children, SNL used to be good and funny). I had never heard of him and seeing him on the show told me that this show was not afraid to do new things and break away from the norm.

Leon was one of those "ageless" people. He mumbled and shuffled and didn't look young, but he didn't look old either. He was 69 when he died, but if you had told me he was 85, I would've believed it.
