I don't know how many of you have ever listened to Leon Redbone or have seen him on Youtube or TV but he was an incredible talent. And he just passed away at 69 years of age. Crap this years seeing all kinds of unexpected departures of talented people.

I should have learned something then...

I've been a longtime fan of his, and saw him at Slim's in San Francisco once, on an early date with my 2nd ex-wife.
She didn't get him at all.
I appreciate him even more now.

At the age of 127 Indeed! He was certainly an old soul & one hell of a talent,
vocally and instrumentally. Totally unique - that mold is broken.

I remember seeing Leon on SNL during the first season. That show was very new and different and cutting edge (yes, children, SNL used to be good and funny). I had never heard of him and seeing him on the show told me that this show was not afraid to do new things and break away from the norm.

Leon was one of those "ageless" people. He mumbled and shuffled and didn't look young, but he didn't look old either. He was 69 when he died, but if you had told me he was 85, I would've believed it.
