Right ... so although contraception works a lot of the time, when it doesn't, we're just going to proceed with the pregnancy.

That seems reasonable, and not at all likely to result in people doing things that are not only unsafe for their 'precious baby', but also for themselves.

Actually, vasectomies are way cheaper than tubal ligations.

Fun fact - if you haven't had babies and you want a tubal ligation, it's incredibly difficult to get one. So yay for (a) giving women bodily autonomy and (b) making it easy for women to avoid unwanted pregnancies. (Hint - I'm being a bit sarcastic there.)

Of course, one is minimally invasive to the point of being an outpatient procedure, and the other is extremely invasive and requires a full OR and hospital recovery.

The problem is that these Deplorables are against vital programs which help children once they shoot out of the womb, cutting important social programs.

They are against sex education in schools, teaching kids about the consequences of unprotected sex.

Yeah, there's some pretty heavy irony there, but a huge chunk of people on the GB aren't here for the sex ... they're just here because the liberal attitude taken to people talking about sex in Lit means they also have almost free rein in every other area of discussion as well. I have no interest in changing your beliefs. I don't believe in socialism and I don't believe in abortion. Conflating planned parenthood with abortion is an oxymoron. A plan is to think something through before you proceed, and abortion is to remove a problem for lack of planning. You can buy condoms 99 cents a dozen or birth control with a simple prescription or the rhythm method for you catholics, that's called planning.
