This is why....

The last naturally-occurring case of smallpox in the world was contracted in October, 1977 by a young man in Merka Town, Somalia. He survived, and no new cases were reported in Somalia or elsewhere. But ironically, in 1978 two more cases popped up in Birmingham, England, from smallpox virus escaped from a research lab. One of the patients died. The director of the laboratory committed suicide. These were smallpox's last victims. In 1979, a global commission certified that smallpox had been eradicated, and this certification was officially accepted by the 33rd World Health Assembly in 1980.

The measles outbreak in NYC was traced to travelers from Israel.

I'm pretty sure that we DON'T have a serious problem with people illegally entering our nation from Israel!

If we DID, phrodeau, I'm absolutely certain that anti-Semitic Democratic Party congresswoman Ilhan Omar (from Somalia and/or Minnesota) would be making endless speeches about it on the floor of the U.S. House or Representatives, and the rest of that party would be far too frightened of her to disagree or suggest she tone it down. She can say ANY fool thing she wants to and they'll all look the other way!

We DO have a serious problem with people marching in caravans from central American & Mexico, attempting to illegally enter the U.S. will all kinds of communicable diseases that don't involve Israel, but once again the Democratic Party is currently trying to win the votes of those people (who aren't even citizens), and so once again they look the other way rather than address the obvious problem with which this threatens our nation.

Almost 75% of all measles cases in this country are from the Jewish community. You know, the ones we let in legally from that socialist country.

So if I had bad information about one, that invalidates all the rest and the un-vaccinated illegal aliens are safe, right?

Not at all, it's just that small pox is about the worst scourge known to man. But there are medical problems on the border, some pretty serious.

The genesis of the measles outbreak was indeed a traveler from Israel.l

You make a valid point about people NOT wanting to remain in socialist countries!

Have you seen what's currently happening in Venezuela? That socialist hell-hole created by Hugo Chavez has looted the wealth of that once-prosperous nation, with Castro-wannabee dictator Nicolas Maduro currently trying to use his military to crush his peoples' desire for democracy!

I repeat, we DON'T have a serious problem with people illegally crossing into the U.S. from Israel! If people fly here with the measles, they've got to go through modern airport security, which is considerably more advanced than it was back in the days of immigrants going through Ellis Island, where those people getting off of ships could be detained if they showed any signs of sickness or ill-health.

phrodeau writes: "And we only have Trump to blame for that."

Patience, phrodeau - President Trump will leave office on January 20, 2025 - at which time you can end your crying & gnashing of teeth.

Not my point, I was responding to phrodeau's point about NYC. I agree, we don't have a problem with Jewish migration or visitation.
