If two related adults get it on together, I consider that to be their business, especially if they take precautions. But some guy seducing his very young daughter is wrong in every way.

Right and wrong

I have strong views about the natural wonder of sex. I reject social "norms" about sex. But the greater question of right and wrong is valid.

If any practice causes needless harm to others it is wrong. Some have drawn attention to the problem with incest and procreation. Obviously a child born with birth defects because of incest is harmed by his parents pursuit of pleasure. That would be wrong.

Obviously and adult seducing, manipulating or sexually abusing a child in any way is wrong.

But the wrongness of such acts is because of the selfish motives and the harm that it causes.

The same principle can govern many areas of sexual right and wrong. In itself, I don't think there is anything wrong with a husband or wife having sex with others if their mate knows about it and approves of it. But going behind a marriage mates back with full knowledge that their mate would be HURT by what they are doing is wrong.

A person that puts others at risk from STD is doing something wrong. It causes harm.

So if two closely related adults are sexually attracted and their is no risk of a pregnancy then what is it about their enjoying sexual pleasure together that would be wrong?

The point is that what is right and wrong should not be based on what is socially normal. In a culture of thieves stealing is "normal."

What is right and wrong should not be subjective based on mystical beliefs and opinions that are imposed upon the masses. Things that really are wrong cause real harm and it should not be hard to sort that out.

I hear ya, but incest is one of those areas where you can't open the door half-way. Yes, there are existing laws for underage sex, but since 30% of pedophilia is perpetrated by family, legitimising incest removes another obstacle to coercion: "well, it's not illegal, so..." Our society is still based around family units, despite the numbers of single parent families. Families only function if there is implicit trust and unconditional love. Bring another dynamic of sex into a family and it's a grenade that will explode.

But I may have got this wrong - if you'd like to fuck your grandma, go ahead... I'm thinking it'll be your sister you have in mind.

Just because "lots of people are doing it" doesn't make it right
